"Pledge" move questions
So, the base power "pledge " moves ( water, fire, grass) is 50 with 100% accuricy.
When combined ( in any way) does the base power of the attacks go up to 150? The offical stratagy guide volume 1 states that the moves are increased to 150 power. I can not find any confirmation on this. Is this info correct? seems kind of too good to be true to get that big of a boost in the base power just for using the moves. Plus getting stab out of it for using the moves tpye match up from the user.

No, the guidebook's wrong. Combining the Pledges will never increase their base power - they just get additional effects.
For future reference, these are the additional effects that combining the Pledges will give you: Combining Grass Pledge and Water Pledge will create a marsh, halving the Speed of your foes for four turns. Combining Fire Pledge and Grass Pledge will create a burning field, damaging your foes by 1/8 of their max HP every turn. Combining Water Pledge and Fire Pledge will create a rainbow, doubling the chance of moves having secondary effects. This effect does not stack with the ability Serene Grace. Remember, two different Pokémon on your team have to use these attacks (so this can only be performed in double or triple battles) directly after each other, and they have to be performed in the order I listed them (for example, Grass Pledge before Water Pledge, Water Pledge before Fire Pledge etc.). Hope I helped! ^_^ |
