Doubles Teams

I want to know what are some common attack types are, if they are physical and special and some common themes that people use.

I'm working on a Rain team for doubles and this info will be needed for EV spreads and such. Any help at all will be helpful because I don't know gen 5 doubles all to well.

Well, from what I've seen, physical threats include Terrakion. It uses Rock Slide, Close Combat, EQ, and Protect, and It's been used very frequently in masters, and I assume that's what you're preparing for. Another thing to watch out for would probably Scrafty. Its Fake Out and Drain Punch combo will be annoying, coupled with its 100+ base defense and Sp. Defense, but I'm unsure of the exact number.

Special would probably be more like Hydreigon, with Flamethrower, Dragon Pulse, Earth Power/Dark Pulse, and Surf, but a couple of those could be switched out with other moves. Jellicent with Scarf will also be prevalent, with Water Spout, Shadow Ball, and Ice Beam probably.
Not sure about many others, but from watching the finals videos on youtube for regionals, this is what I've been able to remember because of how common they were.

I'll be playing in senors I believe but that's still good none the less. I should make my flyers more bulky in the defence stat.

Terrakion is now common to have quick attack (yes, quick attack) to ensure the KO on focus sash mirrors.

^Kind of nice to see quick attack is something usefull in such a large competative scene, too bad Terrakion can not have bullet punch

From what I've seen of the VGC (UK championships and videos of the US ones)

Almost everything uses Protect A LOT. I dunno if it's just me, but Protect seems to succeed a lot more than it used to.

Gems are really common, especially Flying Gem with Acrobatics.

Terrakion, Tornadus (Tailwind), Thundurus, Amoongus are on just about every team.

Scrafty, Hydreigon, Jellicent, Chandelure (Trick Room), Krookodile, Haxorus are all incredibly popular.

Whimsicott, Elektross, Conkledurr are pretty common too.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to run a defensive rain dance team and hit hard when it's needed.
