[HGSS-on] Mighty Mouse

Decklist Updated 9/16

Pokemon
4-4 Cinccino (Do the Wave)
2-2 Zoroark (Foul Play)
2 Basculin (anti-Donphan)
Total: 14

Trainers
4x Great Ball
4x Emcee's Chatter
2x Energy Retrieval
4x Copycat
4x Pokemon Reversal (Don't have Catcher, so this is the best I could do)
4x Dual Ball (Don't have Collector, so this is the best I could do)
4x PlusPower
2x Professor Elm's Training Method
2x Good Rod (Don't have Junk Arm, so this is what I use)
1x Juniper
1x Pokedex
Total: 32

Energy
8x Water Energy (to power up Basculin, use in general)
4x Dark Energy (special)
2x DCE
Total: 14

Strategy
Turn One: Set up Minccino. Try to get as many pokemon as possible with great ball, etc.
Turn Two: Get Cinccino. Hit for 60-100 damage depending on how many guys I have on the bench. (Preferably at least three guys there)

Matchups
vs. Reshiboar: My deck can outpace Reshiboar. Basculin can take out Emboar with a pluspower and can take out Reshiram OHKO.
vs. Donphan: Tougher, but Basculin can take out Donphan.
vs. Other: Probably rely on a mix of Cinccino and Zoroark, depending on what I am facing.

Please help me choose the right number of Pokemon, right types of Trainers, and right number of Energies. Thanks

Several ideas I have for further changing this:
1. Add in a 2-2 Mandibuzz line for sniping. Only requires 1 Dark anyways.
2. Add 1 or 2 Cheren for additional draw power.
3. Add in 2-2 Ninetales roast reveal, though this might interfere with my overall strategy. Also, Ninetales can't attack well and is therefore Catcher-prone.

Hmmm. I feel like revive would be a good play in this deck. It allows you to refill a bench spot (giving another cincinno a chance to hit for 100 without playing down another basic). Also, Collector or lacking that, Pichu to load up the bench ASAP. Maybe a 2-2 Zoroark for the dragon matchup?

Okay, wait. I'ma just give you a different list.

4-4 Cinccino (Do the Wave)
2-2 Ninetales (Roast Reveal)
2-2 Swanna (EP)
2-2 Zoroark (BW)
1 Pichu
Total: 21

Trainers
3x Junk Arm (to reuse random things)
4x PONT (hand refresh +roast reveal is good)
2x Pokemon Reversal (Don't have Catcher, so this is the best I could do)
2x Great Ball (you don't need 4)
3x Pokemon Communication (more consistent)
2x Research Record (better than poke dex since you can send away unwanted stuff)
3x Pokemon Collector (for bench loading)
1x Revive (to keep bench loaded)
2x Plus Power (for do the wave on yanmega, foul play on dragons, etc.)
2x Juniper
Total: 24

Energy
7x Fire Energy (you'll have at least one in hand with PONT and roast reveal)
4x DCE (power up Cincinno/Zoro/Swanna faster)
4x Water Energy (Swanna)

Total: 15

Thanks for your decklist.

I don't want to use both Cinccino and Zoroark in the same deck, as that makes me Donphan bait. Are there any other Pokemon that go well with Cinccino?

The trainers you listed look great. I'll look into getting those.
Same goes for the energy.

I am not 100% sure how you want to play this deck, but I will try my best to help you.

-4 Emcee's chatter (flippy)
+4 Cheren (no flip guarantees 3 cards)

-2 Energy Retrieval (your deck uses mainly special energy, so you wont get it back anyways)
+2 Energy Exchanger (allows you to draw out your DCE or specials faster)

-4 Copycat (not guaranteed a 6 card refresh everytime + you are helping yanmega decks)
+4 PONTS ( fresh 6 cards, but if u don't have I guess copycat works)

-2 PETM (kills 1 turn for your support draw power)
+3 Pokemon Communication (allows to draw a basic or evolution w/o costing drawing turn)

-1 Juniper (not consistent and I am not sure you would want to throw away your whole hand)

-1 Pokedex (not consistent, don't see the use here)

+2 Double Colorless Energy (allows you to use both cincinno and zoroarks attack w/ 1 energy, fast setup)

-4 Water energy (way too much energy in here, 12 should be ok)

+1 Cleffa (early game setup if bad start)

+2 Revive (always keep your bench full or recover an early knocked out Mincinno)

Best of luck.

Yeah, the big problem here is that you run just 8 Basics, no recovery, and need 5 Pokemon Benched at all times.

Rescue Energy, Revive, or Flower Shop Lady could be helpful, but you still need to increase the number of Basics. Adding the 2-2 Ninetales + Fire Energy is a good idea (You only need a couple of Water for the Basculin). Pichu could help, as you don't have Collector.

I recommend trying out Tornadus. It can tank Donphan and reliably 2 shot it. It'd be another basic to fill your bench with and assist with a difficult matchup.

I might use both, depending on my decklist.

I will definitely put in the Exchangers now after looking at the card. I might still include Energy Retreival if I run Ninetales.

I think I will stick with Copycat for now. I might use a mix though, depending on whether I find any PONTs.

I'll look into it.

Maybe I will go 4 Copycats and 1 PONT instead of 4 Copycats and 1 Juniper then.

Filler

I'll look into it

OK, if I can find 2 more DCE.

Quote:
+1 Cleffa (early game setup if bad start)
OK. I'll look into it. I don't like baby pokes, usually.

Quote:
+2 Revive (always keep your bench full or recover an early knocked out Mincinno)
OK, I'll get some.

Best of luck.
Thanks.
