Make plans now to join us for Virginia's first ever 2 day Pokémon Regionals event!!

Location: The Farm Bureau Center, Hall B, at The Meadow Event Park
Address: 13111 Dawn Boulevard, Dowell, VA (Exit 98, VA 30-E, off I-95 between Richmond and Fredericksburg, near Kings Dominion.)

Saturday--TCG Regionals! Modified format HS-on thru Emerging Powers Registration from 8:00AM-9:30 AM
Sunday--Masters Top 16 TCG and Juniors/Seniors Video Game Regionals in the morning; Masters Video Game Regionals after noon.

Hotel: The nearby Best Western "Kings Quarters" has reserved a room block Saturday night at the rate of $50.16. Call the hotel directly at (804) 876-3321 and mention the "Pokémon Tournament" to receive this rate!!

do you think the hotel would extend the block into friday night? me and a few people were thinking about heading down there early for some testing and not have to worry about traffic on sat morning.

It can't hurt to call the hotel and ask about extending the rate to Friday night, rather than waiting for 'oh-fish-shul' info. Worst case is they say NO, then the block fills up. First come, first sleep!

I called the hotel and asked about the block. The lady on the phone asked me "What's Pokemon?"

This was just finalized Friday, so my guess is that sales staff and front desk staff haven't communicated info yet. I have followed up with sales and asked them to verify that phone staff knows about us. I have also requested an extension of the rate to Friday. We'll see...

I'm from PA and this is the closest thing announced. I want to know so I could decide if I need to book a hotel

We have the Northeast Regional from Amtrak, but you're going to disembark in Richmond and have to go out of your way again to go north where the event is. Carpool, I suppose.

Just an FYI I just booked a room for Friday and Saturday night at the Best Western so there should still be some available. Also, when I called I choose the option to speak to someone about group sales. When I inquired about the event and booking a room, the gentleman that took the call could not have been more courteous and helpful. Also note that the rate of $50.16 per night is available for Friday and Saturday night as stated before and that this includes tax.

Can't wait for this event! It is going to be lots of fun!

Well, we don't have the venue until Sat AM, so anything Friday night will be at the Amelia league starting around 4 PM..but that is a pretty fair shake from where most travelers will be staying. I'm playing it by ear on Sunday, since it will depend on the turnout for the VG. Depending on how many tables are occupied by VGers, we may set up a side event or two. But, just like the TCG gets Sat priority, the VG will get Sun priority.
