Let's say a player does a legal search (e.g. PETM or Collector) and notices that his three Rare Candies are all consecutive.

Can that player separate the Rare Candies, provided that the player shuffles adequately afterwards and allows his opponent to cut/shuffle?

What the rule is about is having a sufficiently shuffled, randomized deck.
