DPL and Rainbow Energy

If I have rainbow energy attached to Dialga and Palkia Legend and use "Time Control" do I discard the Rainbow Energy as if it were Metal Energy?

Not "as if". When it play, it "is" a Metal Energy. As well as all other colors.
It gets discarded.
