==>> Compendium Updates for 6/2/05
Nothing earthshaking here.
Just rulings that follow other established rulings. Enjoy. This edition of the Rulings Compendium includes: | | | * May 26th 2005 -- MEETING CANCELED -- * June 2nd 2005 PUI Rules Team Meeting -- (*) -- xxxxxxxxx1xxxxxxxxx2xxxxxxxxx3xxxxxxxxx4xxxxxxxxx5 xxxxxxxxx6xxxxxxxxx7xxxxxxxxx8 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ERRATA ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON POWERS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == DRAGON LIFT (Salamence EX - EX:Deoxys) Q. Salamence-EX's "Dragon Lift" Poke-Body makes Retreat Cost 0, but Dark Muk's "Sticky Goo" Poke-Body adds 2. So if Salamence-EX is on the bench and the Defending Pokemon is Dark Muk, how much would it cost to retreat my Active Pokemon that normally has a Retreat Cost of 1? Is it 0, 2, 3, or what?? A. Anything that sets retreat to zero is not affected by pluses and minuses, so Dragon Lift sets the retreat cost to zero, despite Dark Muk's Sticky Goo. (Jun 2, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == HEAL DANCE (Bellossom - EX:Hidden Legends; Gardevoir - EX:Emerald) [CHRISBO NOTE: Add Gardevoir to the header for this section] Q. Bellossom & Gardevoir both have the "Heal Dance" Poke-Power. Could you use Gardevoir's Heal Dance first, and then use Bellossom's Heal Dance too? A. Sorry, but the power says that you may use ONLY ONE Heal Dance per turn, regardless of which Pokemon uses it first. (Jun 2, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == TOXIC GAS (Muk - Fossil; Muk EX - EX:Dragon) Q. Since Muk-EX's "Toxic Gas" says it shuts off all Poke-Powers and Poke-Bodies, does that mean that in unlimited play it shuts off Pokemon-Powers (like Raindance)? A. Yes, "Poke-POWER" and "Poke-BODY" cover all types of "Pokemon Powers, and the intent of Toxic Gas is to prevent all powers. (Jun 2, 2005 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON ATTACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == CRUSHING FLAMES (Moltres EX - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) Q. Say I use Moltres-EX's "Crushing Flames" against a Pokemon with only 10hp remaining. May I discard an energy to Confuse the Pokemon even though it will be KO'ed at the end of the turn (for example, if I need a Fire energy in the discard pile for Blaziken's "Firestarter")? A. Yes, technically you may do this. (Jun 2, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == FASTWAVE (Deoxys EX - EX:Emerald) Q. The Deoxys-EX attack "Fastwave" says, "this attack's damage isn't affected by Resistance, Poke-Powers, Poke-Bodies, or any other effects on the Defending Pokemon". But what about Weakness; do you apply it or not? A. Since Weakness was not specifically mentioned, you apply it when using the Fastwave attack. (Jun 2, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == SLACK OFF (Slakoth - EX:Ruby/Sapphire) Q. If I have a Slaking active with Meteor Falls in play, and I use "Slack Off" to remove the damage counters off Slaking, can I attack with Slaking next turn? A. No, Slaking is the one performing the Slack Off attack, so it must also abide by the restriction that it cannot attack during your next turn. (Jun 2, 2005 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAINER CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == METEOR FALLS (EX:Deoxys) Q.
