Registeel ex and Duel Type Pokemon?
Let's say your opponent has a Tyrannitar (delta species) active and a Mewtwo (delta species) on their bench, both fire and metal.
My Registeel ex, from Hidden Legends, attacks with Steel Wave doing 50 dmg to the active Tyrannitar. Now, would the effect of Steel Wave deal 20 dmg or 40 dmg to the benched Mewtwo? Here's the text of Steel Wave... (M)(M)(C) Steel Wave 50 Does 20 dmg to each of your opponent's benched pokemon of the same type as the defending pokemon. (don't apply weak/resist for benched) Just wanted some clarification! Thanks in advance! ![]() xEDITx Ooops... heheh... Nevermind, i found it in the Compendium... It'll only do 20 dmg to the Mewtwo... Last edited by JIMMYtehEXPLODER; 10/30/2005 at 08:33 PM. |

Closing the topic, but I'll include the answer again from the Compendium:
== STEEL WAVE (Registeel EX - EX:Hidden Legends) Q. Say Registeel-EX does "Steel Wave" against a Pokémon that is dual-type (like Team Aqua's Walrein that is both Darkness & Water). If you have another Pokémon on the bench with the same dual-type (like a second Team Aqua's Walrein), then would the attack do 40 damage to the bench (20 per type)? A. No. While a dual-type Pokémon does represent two types, Steel Wave does not count a Pokémon card more than once when figuring out bench damage. It would only do 20. (Sep 16, 2004 PUI Rules Team) |
