2 ways to find out:

1) Check the price guide
if you don't agree with the price in the price guide,
2) Check completed eBay auctions and take an average

Which, really, should get you the same answer. Not counting auctions that did badly.

what do you mean "that did badly"? He said to average the prices it sold at, that would average "low" and "high" auctions

There are many factors that can determine why an auction does badly... the time and day the auction ends,price,condition of card, whether it was a 'buy it now' or a bidding auction, etc.

Bad sellers that experienced buyers avoid.
poorly written or composed auctions.
high shipping cost.
glut on the market of a particular item.
So many things.
