http://pokegym.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=1467&c=51 Seeing that Latios delta is Lightning and Metal, he doesn't take damage if he has Metal on him...

"Damage done by attacks to the Pokemon that Metal Energy is attached to is reduced by 10 (after applying Weakness and Resistance). Ignore this effect if the Pokemon that Metal Energy is attached to isn't M. Metal Energy provides M Energy. (Doesn't count as a basic Energy card.) "
"[1] Explosive Evolution - Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Pokemon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance.) Then, search your deck for a card that evolves from Dark Pupitar and put it on Dark Pupitar. (This counts as evolving Dark Pupitar.) Shuffle your deck afterward." Explosive evolution does direct damage, not placing damage counters. Since the damage done is directly ten, metal energy can reduce it, and darkness can add damage(to the defending pokemon). Latios would take 10-10 damage from explosive evolution with a metal energy attached.
