Rare Candy
What are the rules for running rare candy with your stage 2 lines. Does it matter if your running sumthing like a 4-3-4, to a 3-2-3 and a 2-1-2, or even a 1-0-1 tech line?

No it doesn't matter because it's your deck.

What he means is which lines do you use rare candy for and how many for each line.

Still, just like im_me said, the choice is always up to you. If you feel comfortable with running something like two Rare Candy's in a deck, just make sure that you can pull it off. Otherwise, four for the most part, and three in every other instance. I do want to mention that it is easily possible to run Stage 2 lines without Rare Candy's at all, so never feel that you have to use Rare Candy. However, as I mentioned, Rare Candy's are generally used to speed up a deck, so use it where you see fit. |

I agree with what eriknance say. You don't need RC at all in some stage 2 deck. For instance, the outdated Dragtode. I have one and never run rare candy in it. It becomes slower compared to when i have Wally's in it. And, you may not need 4 RC in any stage 2 deck. Ludicargo, most use 3 only. RC is almost a staple in any deck. Even stage 1 uses it. But, it is rare for them to do so. And, for the stage 2 ratio, it depends on how important the card is. Like, 2-3 years ago, Chris Fulops, Blaziken deck user, 2004 world champions deck, play 1-0-1 Bellosom!

In my deck I run 4 Rare Candy's because speed is the key to sucess
3-2-3 Usually around 2-3 Rare Candy's. 4-2-4 4 Rare candies. 4-3-4 3-4 Rare Cady's(not allways needed). 4-4-4 2 or no Rare Candy's. See it all depends on how you want to play it. |

In testing of a Typholsion deck for my youngest son (age 8) I found that 2-1-2 Pigeot with 4 rare candies is about half a turn quicker than 3-2-3 Pigeot with one rare candy. 3-2-3 is more resilient against ATM Rock and is simpler to play. The 4 candy deck didn't always win and wasn't always quicker.

I have a Machamp deck and it's the only Stage 2 in the deck so I can pull off using 3 Rare Candies even though it's a 4-3-4 line.

If you wanted to you could play a 1-0-1 line without candy, or even a 0-0-1 line. Why you would want to I don't know but its you freedom to have up to 4 of any card in your deck excluding *'s and energy

A mistake I've seen some people make is running X-<X-X lines without Candy. This serves no purpose whatsoever.
More often than not I'll run 4 Candies, and adjust the Stage 1s accordingly. Spare Candies are always nice for Speed and flexibility (which in essence is just another form of speed). |
