My Bournemouth Regionals Report!

well everyone else is doing one so here goes!

so i get up at quarter past six n my dad drives to pick up kish and an oversleeping ian e!! lol then we go to nigel e's house for our lift. We get that and arrive at Bournemouth at 9ish

we pay register etc then start the 8pko side events which wud later take us in to the gamecube tournaments!

in the first 8 player side i beat a 10 and under first then got paired against nigel. He was playing liability typh against my powdacham. after the worst start ever i eventually locked him and powed in his cargo to trap him for pretty much the game. I won through locking lol! then kempley in the final didnt get set up AT ALL so i was basically picking off basics and benched stage ones. in the other side i beat ian e with my dragtrode turn 3 :) and then justin again, but dint get time to play the other finalist.

so to the main event. i decided to play powdacham cos id seen a fair amount of power-y decks going around and not TOO much Queen (my biggest fear).

round 1- Lee J with ZRE
great player, well built deck but unfortunately, my admins were (according to him!) very well timed! (even though id only used them as a necessity!) no cargo was a problem for him, then time was called and i was well ahead. was a bit scared at one point as quite a bit of energy in play, but managed the win

1-0

round 2- Yaccine with Jynx!
what a legend Yaccine is! always a pleasure to play and today was no exception! the biggest surprise was his deck, cos id never played against it before and it was all rather new.
i got an ok start, chaming him on t2 so no more baby evolutions. it was razor close all game, until time was called and i had to finish my turn. im trailing on prizes. LUCKILY i hadnt been admined cos i had the hand of the gods. in play i have a jirachi i think with one energy on it. my espeon ex had just been knocked out after doing 60 to an evolved jnyx. i use poke retriever to put the espy and eevee back into my deck, swooped jirachi for eevee, elmed for espy. powed a roselia active and evoled to knock out the now benched jynx. i attached and hit roselia for 30. theres nothing he can do, and he ends his turn. i hit it again and GG! a razor close game and a very enjoyable one!

round 3- irwin with BLS
well, cham ive found does ok in this matchup cos they really need the pidgeot to search for stuff. so i got control, few er2's here and there, lock, stock and 3-0

round 4
i now know im through to the top cut, cos im playing the only other person on 3-0, sami s! i KNOW this is gona be tough as he's playing metro, pow pow pow! eek! hmmm, well it was tough and i never really stood a chance. oh well!

3-1

top 4

im put up against dom jordan with his (eventually winning) dragtrode. you would have thought this would have been a breeze for cham but ARRGGGGHHHHH it so wasnt due to some bad luck :(

first game- almost the worst start id had all day. but i made a bit of a comeback! i er2'd off two darks, and killed something with another on it and EVENTUALLY got a cham up and running. dom took one of his prizes at some point and it happened to be the dark he was missing. so he ko'd my cham :( that was pretty much game over.

0-1

second game- ok this was just purely horrible. so i got a GREAT start here, turn two cham. IDEAL u might think. i pure power my little socks off, and am doing great. one of my chams goes down, and im down on prizes. i have two jirachi in play, and a GOD hand. he has a powered dragonite with a fair amount of energy on it with 70 damage. i promote a non powered jirachi active. i wishing star for a pow. i swoop for an evee. i pow his draggy to the bench, bringing a sneasel active. i evolve to kill his draggy and take a prize. i now have a free retreat so i retreat for the other jirachi, with 3 energy on it. i wishing star for a medicham and then go to swoop and find my last meditite PRIZED. arrgggghhhhh!!!!! from there it just went terribly. despite my best efforts, i couldnt do anything. all his powers were returned and away he went.

0-2

well some bad luck but also some excellent play from mr jordan! everything was superb on that front! great work mate on the win!

in the gamecube tourney i beat a rather confused daryl lol- we'd both come out of our top 4's. i then lost to sami for the third place play off, and ian in the next round of the gamecube tourney. i decide that i need a little rest from the TCG for a couple of weeks, do a bit of trading and put my decks to bed :)

props- a great tourney! excellent TO'ing, great tournout, the seaside, the lot!
ian winning a gamecube!!!
me winning a copy of fire red!! *coughs* for sale *coughs*
top 4!!!! yay!!!!!
nigel for the lift! cheers nige!!!!

slops-
bad luck! awwww, nm!

GJ Andy, that prized Meditite must've been very annoying and honestly you'd have won if it wasn't for that.

T4's still a great achievement with so many good players there, and thanks for the kind words

GJ, I would have thought going Aggro against DragTrode with Cham and only Cham would have been the key but you're one of many good players in the UK that I respect in terms of skill so it must have been a bad situation for you. Maybe should have realised the last medi was prized earlier but hindsight is often a wonderful thing. GJ on the placing anyway.

Shame you aren't a Slough player, the mentoring potential... ;x
