Croroot

So what came first the root or the Crobat?

Ive been testing out Crobat HL+DS+TRR and it seems to be working well.
You first start attacking with TRR Crobat(t2, sometimes t3) You have a DRE on it so it can use Dark Drain+its power or Skill dive. You keep striking until its dead(its should take a bit since it can heal it self with 1st attack depending on how much damage your taking atleast two turns) Then you send out either Crobat HL to tripple poison(<3<3<3!!!) or send out Crobat DS and pretty much ko anything you want(I like to send out Crobat HL first though spread around the damage more or increase it). Dont forget to attach an Energy Root to it! With 110 HP either one is a killer... What you dont like a 110hp? Well then slap down a Low Pressure System! That 120 HP on Crobat HL or DS(only 100 for Crobat TRR) So your opponent has a lot of damage counters, well lets not put those to waste KABAM! ATM Rock. That pretty much how it goes I'd post my list.... but wheres the fun of building your own deck . You can play pidgeot its up to you I prefer it though, kind like Batman and Robin . Well hope this little Croroot thing helps you decide a deck for a tournament! Even with psyhic wekaness you can always play Pro. Orb(1-2) to help you out vs those matches! Always play something unexpected at your tournaments! Viva la Croroot!

I think i got a ruling on this awhile ago and DRE doesn't reduce the damage idt because there's no base damage to the attack and there's only the effect of the attack that produces damage.

Same reason why darkness energy on dk crobat doesn't make a difference.

I can't find any rulings like that... Besides, I'm not sure that it would make any sense anyway. Damage is damage, right?

DRE states damage damage reduction to ALL pokemon. weather or not there is a "base damage" to start with or not. if it inflicts DAMAGE(mind you, not damage COUNTERS) is reduced by 10 damage. so dark drain does a total of 0 damage. but you still get healed. even if you attach a darkness energy, it will only add damage to the DEFENDING pokemon.

whoever told you that it didn't reduce damage cause it isnt "base" damage is sooooo wrong its unreal.

also, *sighs* read the card. magic judges would tear you a new one for the way you are interpreting "darkness energy" (you are not reading the card. they will wear shirts that say "RT*K", "Read The Card"!!, but in a not so polite manor) it says
Quote:
If the Pokemon Darkness Energy is attached to attacks, the attack does 10 more damage to the ACTIVE Pokemon(Before applying weakness and resistance) ignore this effect if the attacking pokemon is (D) or has dark in its name. Darkness Energy provides (D) energy.(Doesn't count as a basic energy card)
so lets recap.

-darkness does not add to the bench, but it does add damage to the active pokemon.
-DRE reduces damage by all attacks made by that pokemon, even if their isn't a big number next to the attack name.
-skill dive would only do 20 damage at most to a benched pokemon if Dark Crobat has a DRE. and can do a total of 60 damage to the active pokemon if it has 4 darks on it.(70 with a strength charm)(scenario i am using is even on prizes)

now that we got that huuuuuge problem cleared out.. i would go with the list afirule. looks to be a decent list.
