Origins Event Registration is up!

For anyone who wants to go ahead and register for events (one of the ones we wanted was already sold out), the online event registration is up.

Brace yourself, it's horrific. I had to do ours 2 times each.

TIP: If you've already purchased a badge, after adding your events to your badge you will notice that there is no CHECKOUT button. None. The only way you can buy your events is to "Add Badge to Cart." Since it is pre-purchased it will show up as $0.00, but it makes no sense to have to do that.

Enjoy!

Gorn,

I'm have trouble even accessing the event pre-registration area. I'm logged in fine, but the load time for the "Shop Online" link is horrendous. I let it sit for two and a half hours on Cable Broadband and it was still loading. Any tips?

Here's the link to start from...

https://events.originsgames.com/

Log in from this page. You'll be brought back to this page.

In the main body there are 4 sections. Find the one applicable to you and follow the instructions.

Have you already purchased your badge?

yeah, I have. I'm going to work now and did the whole log in and click over for Shop Online. I'm going to let it load while I'm at work (5+ hours). If that's not enough load time, I'm gonna place a call to GAMA on Monday and see what, if anything, the problem is.

I am more and more convinced that Origins does not have their act together.

This is definitely a convention on the decline.

Last year, at least for pokemon, I recall not having to have event tickets, or having to preregister. You could do it at the pokemon table prior to the tournament. Is that the case again this year? Was that the case last year, or am I misremembering?

I've been to this convention 2 or 3 times now, and still can't remember how it works.

Edit: I now remember buying some sort of tacky little coin, the "metal" of which nearly crumbled in my hands...general event coins, or something of that nature. They sold them all over the place, and you could pay for pay events with them. They ran about a dollar twenty-five or so.

Does everyone have to do this? I mean, if your just going down, and might want to play in a small event that is being held on one of the days, maybe not, do you still have to pre-register to play in the event, or can you pay on the day of the event?

The only reason that you may want to pre-register is that some events get filled up.

Pokemon? Unlikely because there's support for so many players.

Some other things (tabletop games and RPGs) have 6-10 players.

So you can buy all the tickets that you want, but if you go to an event and try to
walk on, you'll be able to only if there are seats available.
