Pokemon Psychographic Profile
Well I usually post this time to time, this time I added it to my website and updated it to reflect Pokemon terms. Have fun in discovering or remember what type of player you are.

Hmmm, guess my profile isn't there! I'm a hybrid as well. I'm a Timmy/Tommy/Spike that loves to judge! Ha! Figure that one out, eh.

Man, I don't know...overall that's a fun, excellent article, but I think the definitions for the hybrids are too narrow. What if you're fearless about deck choices, yet you know what it takes to win? Under many people's opinions, Team Ownage would be Johnny/Spikes, yet according to the article, they'd only be Spikes. Maybe I'm not getting something: If you put Spike first does that mean you value that style more?

I guess I'm sort of a Johnny/Spike, since I play Ludicargo, and it is all but gone now.

I've always hated this stuff because it implies that to win you must be uncreative and to be creative means you decrease your chances of winning. Unfortuantnly for these silly "profiles" the majority of relevant creativity in deckbuilding is done by the game's better players. Good players constantly push the envelope in terms of new decks, the only difference being when a good player brings a new deck to a tournament it is because they've done metagame analysis and found a new combo that expertly punches a hole in the popular decks. When someone else brings some lackluster new deck to a tournament, it is usually because they're bored.

And Mosseh wins the thread.
Stop these "player types" articles. You can't generalize players into a certain group. Not all tourney winners use archetypes and spend 16 hours a day playtesting.

Everything that Mossy says is true on every level, but to MotL, why should these posts be removed or forgotten about? Considering how many members we have (5,988...nearly six thousand as of posting this), some may show genuine interest in what was initially a MtG expert's discussion. However, the creativity end has been twisted and embellished over the years, making it seem as if hugely tournament-addited players lack creativity.
Dana basically solved Moss' dilemma though, because if you creatively break the format, then that would certainly make you a Spike/Johnny.

Timmy the powergamer .. MtG terms rehashed for Pokemon yet again.. Nope doesn't work for me - Is this not a Xerox Post by now too ;)
Lets have something new, something fresh.. something based on Pokemon! How about using Ash, Misty, Brock, Team Rocket and the gym leaders from the game as a basis for player types.. Misty could be Aggressive, flighty with a win quick or burn out trying mentality.. Team Rocket players would look for incredible and complex combinations that always have a flaw never quite living up to expectation.. So how about putting timmy back in the box marked MtG and having something different?

And I did state I post this from time to time. Xerox, Yes. But we have new players all the time and finding out your style of play or others makes you understand the big picture more when your are in a battle at tourny or league.

OK, the fact that you have BLATANTLY copied information straight from Mark Rosewater's masterpiece is rather horrendous. The fact that you have NOT cited him as the author and have used WotC as the citing (who does not own the rights to the author's work; they just host the article) is deplorable. If you're going to use someone else's work, cite it. If not, just get ready for backlash from those who know the author and/or repect their work.
That said, I do believe that Pokemon Players fall into the Timmy, Spike, and Johnny catagories, as well as the developement as the new Vorthos class (though I believe the name for such person would be different for Pokemon). However, you're article is not well thought out AT ALL, needs thorough revision and work with adaptation, and should cite the right person in your references. Without this, I don't repect this half-butted article, even though most of the information is relevant. For those of you who would like to see the REAL Johhny, Spike, Timmy article, check out this link; Mark Rosewater originated the terms and you could easily make the true switch to Pokemon yourself: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x...m/daily/mr220b. Don't worry about taking the quiz. Just reading the article will help. (Angry) Cardz out.

I'm just telling you info so you understand why it was posted the way it was with no intension of taking credit or taking credit away from anyone. That's my opinion of the best way for everyone to understand the information. Back to the post..........

And Mob2099 it's sad you don't think that you need to quote a source or make clear that the original idea wasn't yours.. You should recognise others for their work, ask permission before reposting on your site and I can't see how your first post doesn't take credit for the idea.. Quote:
ask yourself are you a MOSS? Certainly it would be more fun to update it, get away from the MtG terms and plagerism..
