Help Mi GC Es Manana (por Favor!)
Yup my GC is tomorrow so yall help in the little time I got.
This is my full article though so just read the deck and if you want a little strategy. We have all seen this deck and I think we can agree that it has been growing in popularity. Turn 2 Dustox, Dust Lock, or DustMuk is a very fast and furious deck that can totally shut down some very popular decks using Dustox ex’s Safe Guard and Muk’s Stench Poke-Bodys. Article Title: DustMuk (T2 Dustox) Author: Kyle St. Charles (Professor Elm) Date: May 12, 2006 Format: HL-HP Latest Set: EX Holon Phantom Contact: Toonmaster345@aol.com DustMuk (T2 Dustox) Pokemon (16) 3 Dustox ex (LM) 3 Cascoon (LM) 4 Wurmple (DX) 3 Muk (LM) 3 Grimer (LM) Trainers (28) 4 Professor Elm’s Training Method (PETM) 3 Rocket’s Admin 3 Pokemon Reversal 4 Cursed Stone 3 Steven’s Advice 2 Great Ball 2 TV Reporter 3 Battle Frontier 2 Copycat 2 Shard (muy importante) Energy (16) 2 Cyclone Energy 2 Holon Energy GL 12 Grass Energy Strategy The 2 key players in this deck, as you might expect, are Dustox ex and Muk. By combining the power of both Muk and Dustox ex you can totally shut down many popular decks in the metagame. How does the deck work? DustMuk is a very simple deck to play, but you need to have skill in order to get out of tight situations and make the most of it. Your main goal of the deck is to set up either an assembly of Dustox ex’s, Muks, or a combination of both, and attack. Sounds simple huh? Well it actually kind of is. In this deck though you have to be aware of your metagame and what deck your opponent is playing, as it plays a key factor in whom you want to attack with. If your opponent is swarming you with powerful ex’s, then send up Dustox ex and make all his/hers ex’s useless. If your opponent is abusing his Poke-Powers to get a good setup, then just send Muk up to shut all those powers off. This deck almost always sets up by turn 2 or even turns 1! This is only possible through Wurmple’s and Grimer’s ascension attack. Ascension allows you, for only 1 energy, to take the evolution of the basic Pokemon from your deck and place it on top of the basic. This allows for a quick setup, which is always important in this game. What role does each card contribute? 1. Dustox ex This is the main fighter! He is used to stop evil ex’s from attacking you. Cutting Wind may not seem like a great attack, but Silver Wind boosts the base damage to make it better! http://pokegym.net/gallery/files/3/0...x_original.jpg 2. Cascoon (LM) This is used for the sole reason of evolving it. The good thing with the Legend Maker Cascoon though is that its Poke-Power lets you have a chance at getting Dustox ex out faster! 3. Wurmple (DX) Once again, this is card is used for evolution purposes. Ascension makes for a turn 1 Cascoon and possible turn 2 Dustox ex. 4. Muk (LM) Stench is just plain deadly to some decks. This card can single-handedly destroy some decks. Its attacks may not seem great, but its Poke-Body surely makes up for it! This is the card you use to fall back on when Dustox can’t do the job. http://pokegym.net/gallery/files/3/011-Muk_original.jpg 5. Grimer (LM) Once again this is solely used for ascension. A turn 1 Muk can sometimes tear down particular decks, so this card is needed. Trainers PETM is used to retrieve your evolutions when you aren’t able to ascension. It is essential to help set up the deck. Battle Frontier, Admin, Cursed Stone, Giant Stump, and Reversal are all used for disruption. When you play them at the right time these trainers can do wonders and turn your opponents smile upside down. All the other trainers are used for draw. Every deck must rely on draw cards to get to your powerful Pokemon and energies fast! Energy Cyclones can really mess up an opponent’s field and Holon GL is used to prevent status effects from decks like Flariados. The grass energies, of course, are necessities. Match Ups LBS Dustox ex and Muk both basically shut down the deck. None of their evolved Pokemon will be able to do anything. Jirachis can be very painful though seeing as they have resistance. You need to abuse Cursed Stone in this game. You should have a fairly easy win though. 65-35 Flariados This match up can be difficult with all the status effects. Dustox ex can deal with Flareon ex and Muk can stop Flareons evil power. If you play right you can pretty easily win. 60-40 Queendom This is a very easy match up. Dustox ex can OHKO all the Queens and Cursed Stone and Battle Frontier both hurt the deck. Toxic and Desert Ruins is what will get you if you are not careful though. You should have control of this game though (if you can take some hits from toxic.) 60-40 DragTrode Muk totally shuts down the deck, but how long Muk can stay up there is the question. D. Draggy will pose a threat because it has resistance to grass. Dustox ex can deal with Sneasel ex but not Dark Dragonite. This can be an OK matchup if you get an early Muk and stop their setup. 45-55 PowCham Fairly easy. Cham ex cant do anything against a squad of Dustox ex’s. Jirachi can pose a threat though, so be careful. Also the Pows can mess you up 60-40 (I will post more match ups later!) Acid Liability/TyLiability/any other Liability This is a pretty tough matchup. They will go straight for your Dustox ex's fast. Desert Ruins really hurts you, but Muk will sometimes be able to slow down the setup of the deck. In my experiences this deck typically beats DustMuk. It doesnt play any ex's and very limited amounts of PokePowers, which really stinks. Most decks do play Pidgeot (FRLG) though which Muk is able to stop. All in all this matchup is not good. 40-60 MetaNite This can be a difficult matchup. If Metanite is popular in your area you definitely want to add in a couple Crystal Shards. If they can successfully bring out a fully charged Draggy with a couple Metals on it then you are in for a whole lot of pain. Muk will greatly help in this matchup seeing as it stops your opponent from using any powers! Overall this is a so-so matchup. Just remember to get Muk early and Reversal up their Draggys guickly. 50-50

Thanks dude for the motivation.
Do you think this deck has a good matchup against DragTrode though? Cause I think my rival is gonna be playing some varient of it. (that is a main reason I have Shard in there For both Drag (TRR and DS)

I played a much similar list to yours Professor Elm at my local GC. The deck played out fairly well with some great setups. I don't recall but only one battle where I had a horrible start hand. But considering my only losses of the day were to my main two weaknesses Fire and Psychic, which happen to be a Scrambled Eggs deck and a Typhlosion deck thing. But for the most part the deck did fairly good and I'm considering playing it again at my next GC.
Heres my advice for the list though. -2 Holon Energy GL (You seriously don't need these) +2 Cyclone Energy -1 Grass Energy +1 Pokemon Reversal I played Energy Removal 2 in my list and did help a lot but if I was going that route with your list I would drop the 2 Shards and 2 TVR's for 4 ER2.

I am getting ready for my GC right now. I think I am gonna play 3 Cyclone and 1 Holon GL (Just in case). Also I am gonna drop 1 PETM for another draw card. I have tried Giant Stump in the deck and will give it a second thought. Thank y'all
