Okay, so I was thinking of ways to use FR/LG Marowak, and I was thinking about using fossils. But I have a question: Are fossils still considered pokemon while in the discard pile? Because on the card, it says "Fossils are considered pokemon when in play". What does In Play constitute?

Fossils are only Trainers when they are in the Discard pile. In play, for a Pokemon, means on the Bench or in the Active/Defender position.
