A Gameboy league sounds awesome. We tried to start one here in Oregon but it never worked out. And don't forget that Diamond/Pearl are coming out in 2007. Then we'd probably have to change it into a DS league. I don't think everyone who has a GBA also owns a DS.

I wish we could have a GB league, but I seriously doubt it will ever happen.

Sadly, the closet we can get to a GBA League is a weekly/bi-weekly local tournament and a NetBattle League.
I might, and I stress might, be able to start up a bi-weekly or monthly Salem GBA League once I find out what my fall schedule will be like with college and work. Doesn't really help the overall problem of there being no sanctioned League, but at least it's something.

I've been hosting a Gameboy League in Los Angeles for the last 2 years. (See my sig)
It definitely is possible, even without the help from Nintendo. It's not at all easy, but it's worth while once you get it going. Especially now that the gameboy players are getting some kind of recognition. By now we have gotten so good that we barely buy our games anymore. Pokemon USA usually supplies upgrades for us at all the events we win. While I'd love for Nintendo to give some Pokemon Organized Play support to everyone for Gameboy Leagues, I don't see it happening for one reason. It's all about *money*. They do give the tcg players some nice promos and even badges, but you guys actually pay for all that through all the boosters and boxes you continue to buy in order to stay competitive. You can get as good as you want to be in the gameboy game with very little money. You just buy a game or two when they're released, then from there it's all time that you spend to improve your strategy. It's "training" and "breeding", pretty much. Nintendo doesn't profit from this as much as the TCG. This is why we gameboy players get less, and this is why we don't have official leagues yet. They do make millions off of the Pokemon videogame, but I guess they must still make more off of the TCG. WaterPokemonMaster, You're Jon right? I'm the one who beat you at JAA West Covina. I've been meaning to ask you if you had tides with the "Mexican Alliance". One of their members gave us a run for our money at San Francisco JAA (the guy with a mustache and shades). If he hadn't been put up against one of my best over there I'd say he would have taken it. That was one of the best 2vs2 matches I've ever seen. We'd love to battle you guys again. Even if they aren't related to you, let me know if you know who they are.

If you really wanted an official Gameboy League all we would have to do is start a well worded petition and get it through the Pokemon communities. If enough people signed it, they might answer our call. Believe it or not they do watch the communities and do what they can. The "fairplay" rule in JAA was all because of the concern between the online Pokemon communities.

So we should post a petition list in front of our cards shops and let people sign them

It would have more effect and reach more people by starting a online petition.
