Slightly Different Polistall (DX-DF)
While I'm quite new to competitive playing past Neo Genesis and can only get matches online (feel free to contact me for some OCTGN and Apprentice matches [/shameless plug]), I always found this deck really fun and satisfying to play. This is my first deck post... and I can already tell I'm writing too much, but cut me some slack :)
Pokemon: (15) 4xPoliwag (UF) 2xPoliwhirl (UF) 3xPolitoed EX 1xPoliwrath (UF) 3xDunsparce 1xDiglett (CG) 1xDugtrio (CG) Trainers: (32) 4xMysterious Fossil 4xClaw Fossil 2xRoot Fossil 2xCursed Stone 2xBattle Frontier 3xPETM 4xRare Candy 1xScott 3xTV Reporter 2xSteven's 2xCopycat 1xTransciever 1xMentor 1xLass Energy: (13) 9xWater 2xHolon WP 2xHolon's Magneton Total: 60 Comments: This is meant as a slightly more aggresive Polistall. The main problem I've had with this deck is that it's just so hard to fit it in a 60 card-limit. First of all this deck needs a good start, with atleast a Dunsparce/Fossil (preferably Dunsparce), a Poliwag, an Energy and a draw Supporter... odds are decently high with 11 Energy and 13 Fossils/Dunsparces. As a sidenote, I might run two Poliwrath if possible, since it's such a great tech card. 90 for WCC against a Stage 2 is just so useful, and Fighting type definatly helps matchups. They do hog the energy though, and with 2 I almost definatly need a Farmer or something to get the energy back to the deck. After a lot of play I found that a 2/2 Dugtrio line is very useless, and I'm beginning to doubt that even the 1/1 line is of any use, the surge of popularity in Steelix EX/Groudon EX and Kyogre EX say otherwise, so I'm keeping it for the time being. Then again, these decks usually run Meganium EX which screws me up a lot. The problem with the 1/1 line is that one (or worse, both) could be prized, and since this deck needs long turns of setup before actually drawing any prizes, that would definatly screw me up in the matchups where I'd actually need the Dugtrio. Moving on to the trainers. First of all, the draw engine is completely wrong, please help me with that. I can't run just Steven's because with this deck you don't just go through your hand, as I mostly play 1 or 2 cards per turn. I can't maximize Copycat either because this deck needs 'good hands' that will you set you up for the next turn or two. Battle Frontier is only tech, and I've found that Cursed Stone is more useful. I'd run 3/2 CS/BF if possible. I'd like to put a Holon Farmer somewhere there. The 1/1/1 Holon Engine is trying to do something here... it doesn't really work though, so the Transciever itself should probably be out for another Mentor... thing is with Mentor is that it only fetches Poliwags, and therefore the card itself is very situational I found that I don't need 2 Lass by the way. I guess a Windstorm or two wouldn't hurt, but where? And Stadiums don't really hurt this deck all that much, nor does Cessation. So that's it. Gimme some help. Back to back posts merged. fieldworker sucks, dont play it, i know you might think it helps to deck out the opponents but its useless. I dont know who but i remember someone saying on here that if they need the card so bad that they would risk decking out then its best they dont get the card.
soooooo dont use the fieldworker. also take out the TV reporter for 2 more transceiver 1 more mentor. and take out stevens for 2 holon adventurer. |

I'd say find space for another root fossil, but I wouldn't know what to take out because I have never played polistall.

After playing this deck tonight I made some radical changes, most interestingly a super secret TecH Aerodactyl d. It's very weird but definatly useful because it lets you fetch energy and also lets you retreat active Mysterious Fossils instead of discarding them. If only I had space for Brineys, haha. Unfortunatly I can't run Cursed Stone together with Aero which sucks.
I also tried Yanma. Haha, didn't work obviously. |

Curse stone is needed to power more dmg onto opponts. and feildworker does suck worst draw card imo. i'd rather play Prof Cozmo. and Root is the least ussable of the fossils. one idea i like is Energy root on a fossil. yes it loses its power but a 70hp myst fossils sounds nice.
