Don't miss a 4th Generation prerelease event- at the largest Pokémon TCG league on the East Coast! Prepare for battle!

Aardvark Gym, which is consistently one of the largest leagues in the world, and the league that holds 2.4% of all POP-sanctioned tournaments in the US, will be having its sixth prerelease. It is open to anyone who knows how to play Pokémon TCG.

• Time: Sunday, May 13th- Registration begins at 12:00 p.m. Deckbuilding starts at 1:00 p.m. Late players will be given losses for the rounds they missed- no exceptions.
  
  This is Mother's Day. Ask your mother to come with you. I imagine some (many) of you will not succeed, but try it anyway. We could really use some more +30 players! At our last prerelease, the Junior division was the largest.

• Format: Limited- Sealed Deck
  You'll be getting boosters from the latest Pokemon TCG set- Diamond & Pearl. Aardvark's will provide basic energy (You are encouraged to bring your own basic energy (of original six colors)). We are unsure of whether Metal or Dark basic energy will be available.
  
  
• Tournament Style: Swiss. You play every round.
  
  
• Admission: $25; you get six Diamond & Pearl boosters. There are now 10 cards per booster!
  
  
• Prizes:
  -Two Diamond & Pearl boosters for those who complete the event, in addition to the origninal 6 you get for signing up.
  -Don't forget about the secret promotional item!
  -Mother's Day Prize- There is a prize for bringing a parent with you!
  
  
• Make sure you come with:
  -Something to write with (to record your wins/losses)
  -Extra money if you want some food. We sell ice cream, soda, and alot of other stuff.
  -Damage counters and coins (or dice) for coin-flipping.
  
  
• Additional Info: Don’t forget to be there on time and don’t forget your POP ID#. If you haven’t become a POP member yet, come early so we can sign you up and give you a POP ID#. Membership is free. Our game room will be closed to all non-Pokemon activities on the day of the prerelease. If you have any questions about the prerelease or anything about Aardvark Gym, post in this thread or PM me.

OK people, time for me to add on to the prizes!

"Bring your mom to Pokemon" day! You probably already know that our Diamond & Pearl prerelease falls on Mother's Day. I have challenged people to get their mothers to come with them. I'm gonna take it a step further and give out prizes to those who succeed. here's the deal:

If you and your mother (or father) participate in the prerelease and play through all the rounds, tell me. I will give you a DX-on Pokemon TCG booster and a Pokémon 3: The Movie promo card. These are my own boosters I'm giving away- supplies are limited.

So, you've decided to keep the tournament on Mother's Day. You brave, brave soul.

You might suggest to some of your players that they tell their mothers that this Prerelease is a way to get their children out of the house, and thus away from them allowing a few hours of quiet

I just want to add that 4 people have already told me that they are bringing their mothers with them.

Just about everyone I know at league is going. This thing is big- and I'm saying that because it really is!

I just want to provide you with a little piece of information which should do great things for my ego….

We had the largest DP prerelease in the World! So far. There are two more days of these things. Let’s see if we can keep our place as #1. Come on, PTOs!

The one in Albuquerque had 20 players and the one in El Paso had 10. One in Mooresville had no Senior division players and neither did the one in Brooklyn (which is right next to the largest city in the US!)
Two of the others had over 48, including Cedar Grove which had 51.

I would like to thank the devoted players and the ones who just show up to prereleases. I also want to thank every individual one of you, because if we had two less people, we would not be the largest DP prerelease in the World.

If you read the prerelease attendance thread, one source says that they had 72 people, and another 91...
