Prepare for Battle Road at the largest Pokémon TCG league on the East Coast!

The staff at Aardvark Gym, a league that holds 2.4% of all POP-sanctioned tournaments in the US, will be organizing a Battle Road Tournament in Lusby. It is open to anyone who knows how to play Pokémon TCG.

• Time: Sunday May 27
  Registration at 12:00 pm
  Round one at 1:00pm
  Late players will be given losses for the rounds they missed- no exceptions. Through our TO experience, Aardvark Gym staff has become increasingly efficient in setting up and organizing tournaments. Expect the tournament to actually start at 1:00pm. Show up, even if you will be late- remember this is a free tournament; you have nothing to lose! Late entry does not affect your Premiere Rating.

• Format: Modified-Constructed
  I will be looking at your decks. Make your deck is Modified-legal the first time.
  If you suspect that your deck is not Modified-legal, please talk to me before the tournament begins. Or, better yet, come to the league in Lusby or Mechanicsville the week before the tournament and ask for help! Kurt and I have helped many players switch their decks from Unlimited to Modified for Premiere Events (and even built new decks entirely) and I expect to be doing a lot of that this time around as well...
  
  If you own very few Modified-Legal cards, remember, Aardvark's is a card store: If you don't have enough cards to build a deck, get some more! We sell plenty of Modified-legal PTCG boosters, as well as preconstructed decks, if that's the way you wanna go.

• Prizes:
  -Standard prizes. However, aardvarkvcg, titan-girl, and I have a tendency to take things to the next level- so we will probably be adding on to this. What will we add?- need to think about it. I'll get back to you.
  -This is a Premiere Event so you will be playing for a Premiere Rating. Those with the best Premiere Ratings get a paid invite to the World Championship
  -This is a sanctioned event, so you will be playing for ratings. And by "ratings" I mean the ratings system designed specifically for Aardvark Gym, programmed by our great Information Technology Specialist. We decided to make our own rating system for both Premiere and non-Premiere events (based on the Glicko system, similar to the ELO system). It can be accessed through our website. All matches are added to this system, and occasionally we give out prizes to those with the best ratings. So not only are you playing in POP's premiere rating system, you also get to see how you measure up to your friends at Aardvark's!
  
  
• Make sure you come with:
  -Something to write with (to record your wins/losses)
  -Extra money if you want some food. We sell ice cream, soda, and alot of other stuff.
  -Damage counters and coins (or dice) for coin-flipping.
  
  
• Additional Info: Don’t forget to be there on time and don’t forget your POP ID#. If you haven’t become a POP member yet, come early so we can sign you up and give you a POP ID#. Membership is free. Our game room will be closed to all non-Pokemon activities on the day of the event. I know that Mike and Tara are out of town for one of the weekends and another is the Rockville Battle Road (Hence two of the Sundays are not scheduled for us), but have you considered hosting one yourself at St. Mary's or something?

Battle Road applications are currently open only to PTOs (unless there's something wrong with my "My Pokemon" account, and I really can get one).

Don't worry, I will bring this up this Sunday when I see Tara.
Each tournament venue can only have one Battle Road (kind of like each city can only have one City Championship).

If you guys had looked more- you would have seen that one was for a modified- charging a 4.00 entry fee...just a boo-boo from someone that is really over worked, right Tara?

If I understand right, the extra tournament scheduled is probably our weekly modified tournament and has nothing to do with the Battle road. They usually cost four dollars, and I'm pretty sure that all of that money goes towards prizes.

Then again, maybe you mean something else entirely?

Do you have any imprizion markers that I could use? I don't have any, would it be ok to just use up side down damage markers, if I put an I on them?

Ryan Webb told me he wanted to drop out of the event and judge. With 3 judges, I decided I may as well play. My RaiEggs went 3-2 and got me 5th place.
Props to the judging staff and Feraligatr and his family, who came all the way from NC for this.

I would just like to point out that Rob P., who swore that my Gardevoir deck would NEVER beat him lost to it, and didn't even make top 4.

I didn't get a good start for the first 3 rounds of the tourament. I still managed to go 2-1. Then I beat Pablo and Nick. T3 Flygon ex (he is going to get REALLY tired of hearing that) FYI I am not philip.
