If I have a Machamp (pk) in play, the effect overzealous affect the machamp (d&p)?

Machamp's Overzealous is self-referencing - it only helps itself.

(It's very rare for something different. Raichu ex is notable - it does say "any Raichu ex" though...that'll help you tell the difference for those rare cases.)
