Pokemon CAR or airplane games

On road trips in the car my family plays games.

One game we play is “name a Pokemon that begins with the letter (fill in the blank)” We go around the car until we’ve exhausted a certain letter. This is great fun. After using all letters we’ve come up with these categories:

--Name a:
 Pokemon that have a shell
 Pokemon that have wings
 Pokemon that fly
 Pokemon that have more than one head
 Pokemon that are (pick a color)
 Pokemon that are grass type (or water, psychic, etc)
 Name a Pokemon character (like a person. Either in the card game, on TV or the gameboy game)
 Pokemon that is a bird
 Pokemon with flames on their body
 Etc!!

One time we played “name a Pokemon that doesn’t evolve” but most all now do. I suppose for advanced players you can try, “name an attack that does only 10 damage”, like “tackle” or “name an attack that does no damage”, like “collect”. But I’m terrible at those details so we stick to simpler themes.

You make your own rules, deciding on whether a Pokemon flies or hovers. Does Magmar have flames on his body? Would you say Chansey has a shell? (well, somewhere on it’s body is a shell. . . )

We’ve had fun and welcome any suggestions for other Pokemon CAR games.

Name the Pokémon with the lowest base stats.
Name all the Pokémon with straight 100s for base stats.
Recite the Pokérap.
What is the chance of Swift missing?
Name all the Pokémon that can use (not necessarily learn) any attack in the game.

You really should ramp the difficulty level up.

Believe it or not, if I get bored enough, I'll just whip out two decks if I have them and play against myself.

I do that sometimes, albeit playing Magic against myself instead of Pokémon.

I seem to always win. What's up with that?

Here's a game my sister and I play. I pick a card out of my binder, then I give a clue. It's like 20 Questions except the goal is to identify the card by asking the "Yes or No" questions. The person asking the questions must find out the cadrd's name and what set it's from.
Examples:
"Is it a Fire Type?"
"Is it a stage 2 evolution?"
"Is it one of the original 151 pokemon?"
"Is it a ledgendary pokemon"
"Was this pokemon in a Movie?"

For a higher difficulty, you could add trainers and special energies, but they're harder to identify with yes or no questions.
"Is it a Supporter?"
"Does it search for a pokemon?"
"Is it a Special Energy?"
"Is it from the Unseen Forces set?"

I do that TOO sometimes. So far my R-Gon has beaten InferCatty 4 times and InferCattty has never won!!

I don't really understand how you'd play the card game in the car though =/ The coins/dice/damage conters/cards would be all over the place...

If you really wanna get advanced you could always name a pokemon that never actually had its own episode. I meen come on almost all of them have its rediculous. And I agree alphabet games are fun even if not pokemon themed. Like just say a pokemon then the next person says a pokemon with this first letter in his name being the next letter in the alphabet from the last pokemons first letter. BRILLIANT!!

Ok I'll admit, I am too lazy to type out every single one, but essensially and Pokemon, that can use the attack(s): Mimic, Sketch, Tansform, Assist, Metronome,

You really should ramp the difficulty level up.

I think your answer hinges on whether or not those moves can give you Sketch or not (e.g. Metronome rolling Sketch). You also forgot Mirror Move.

Yes! the driver participates in the game too.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. The game can get complicated. I don't know the pokemon cards that well so we keep the games simple. Also for the driver you may not want a super complicated topic. And just when I know all the pokemon names, out comes another set!!
