the rockies beat the padres today 9-8 in a fantastic extra inning game!

so the playoffs are set:

NL:
Diamondbacks v Cubs
Rockies v Phillies

AL:
Angels v Red Sox
Indians v Yankees

What are your predictions?
Mine is :
Cubs v Rockies(Cubs win FINALLY)
Angels v Indians(Angels FTW)
Angels win it all

Q's for playoffs:
WILL A-ROD DO GOOD?
WILL ROCKIES RIDE MOMENTUM TO THE WS?
WILL THE DIAMONDBACKS CHANGE BACK TO THEIR GOOD UNIFORMS?

We can only hope that the Diamondbacks will change back to their old uniforms (As a fan, I really do dislike the new colors).

who's gonna win the world series... who knows. if i had to guess. i'd go with the phillies. they're so hot right now.

edit: oops. the phillies pitching staff isnt looking so good.

regis: same here, when they changed theyre uniforms i was like o.O i dont think im gonna buy the new jersey unless they win the world series. id make sure im able to go to the dbacks 1st home game of the series!

I love the Cubs. I love pretty much all Chicago sports teams. Still, the team is average at best. They'll push the Dbacks to 7 games, might even win that series. I doubt that they'll beat whatever team comes out of the Phillies/Rockies game. Whichever team wins, they're just too hot right now. Philly erased a 7.5 game lead with 2 weeks to play, while the Rockies have won 14/15 and can go into that series no worse than 18/22. That's still a tear in my book.

In the AL side, it will come down to Da Yanks and Da Sawx. And that series had BETTER go 7 games, with the 7th game going into extras. The Sox are the best team in the AL, while the Yanks are the hottest. I'd like to see LA sweep the Yanks all the way back to the Sleepless City, but I seriously doubt that will happen. The Yanks have too many weapons both on the mound and at the plate. The Sox, well, they're kinda reprising their "bunch of idiots" role from 2004, and I love em for that. Still wish Damon was on this team, but ya live. The Sox just tore up the AL during the regular season, and used the last month to prepare for the post season. They're properly set up, all their key guys are well rested, and they look like the team to beat right now.

Here's hoping the Indians can pull through. God knows how starved for a championship title the City of Cleveland is. And they're very impressive this year, it's incredible.

That would be MOST interesting. The most futile franchise in all of professional sports against the one with the third longest championship drought (I refuse to call the RedSox a futile franchise b/c they've been close many times, while the Cubs have scrapped only a handfull of playoff appearances in 99 years)

They had to go 14-1 to make the playoffs, 14-1! 13-2 sounds good, but they HAD to go 14-1! They haven't made the playoffs since 95, they are the cinderella for me, especially after that tiebreaker game. Except, as the hottest team in the league, I think they really can win the WS.
