This card needs a Supporter to recover Pokémon!! Also its partner Volbeat and Ilumise are pretty useless in decks without grass basics. And since these ones are nearly a must, not ideal to play in every deck.
So I would say 7/10 (like homeofmew). P.S.: Yeah! I'm one of the 3 first posters! NEW RECORD! (*hadtobesaid*) |

Ahh.. at last, my favorite evo-line is made into decent cards.
Unfortunately, one of the most useful is actually the stage in the line I like the least ~_~... Here's to hoping next CotD is Porygon the original! -10/10 for being a porygon card -0/10 for beinng a porygon2 -8/10 for usefulness |

Today's CotD is Porygon Z's less insane evolution, Porygon 2. The original upgrade to Porygon offers quite a nice effect; its Poke-Power, Download, let's you use basically another Supporter by discarding it. Being able to play more than 1 Supporter a turn is a significant advantage, considering you usually only can play 1 a turn. With a Porygon2 or more on your bench, you can significantly speed up your set-up. Stat-wise, Porygon 2 is ok; 70 HP is a bit low for a Stage 1 these days imo, +20 to Weakness means Gallade and Lucario OHKO it most of the time. No Resistance (anyone else notice lots of cards these days have no Resistance?), and 2 for a Retreat Cost is a bit steep. Its sole attack, Speed Attack, is overpriced at 2 for 30 damage, but then again, you'll never hopefully have to attack with Porygon2.
Modified - 8/10 (Arguably more playable than its evolution, and a great support Pokemon) Limited - 6/10 (Unless you get a lot of Supporters or a Porygon Z, might not want to use this here. Weak attack and low HP means he won't see much action) Unlimited - 1/10 (No point in using him here) |

Its Poké-Power is useful for playing the effects of upto two Supporter cards on your turn, the one you play as a Supporter and the other you're discarding for the Poké-Power. This is vital for an early setup or whenever you need it most.

Just when we thought it would end with this guy, he gets and 'eerie' patch which turns him into bizarro Porygon with a stupidly high Special Attack in the VG.
Anyways, this Porygon2 stands among the decent Stage 1 cards in the format. If you have to attack with it (without having the ability to search out Porygon-Z), you might be in troulble. But the good news is that you may indeed have the ability to find that Z if you need it (or anything else you need). Its Power is Gardevior on an Red Bull: Awesome effect, bad crash afterward. Other than Drifblim or various other cards that can get any card out of your discard pile (Azurill, anyone?) there is almost no way to get that Supporter back that you discarded. You may need that Supporter later in the game, but you'll be out of luck and Porygon2's Power will be useless as all the Supporters have now been discarded/used. This guy, even with its 'eerie' big-brother, is built for one thing "Extremespeed and CRASH!" Are you playing a deck that needs to get set-up incredibly fast? This guy might be for you (you MUST play a good number of Supporters though). Modified: 6.5/10 (possibly higher in certain decks) |

Good Xtra draw card. Good tech in G&G. & of course, you're going to use it if you play Porygon-Z. Use Scott.

0/10 for Unlimited. You will NEVER need to use more than one of your deck's two or three supporters a turn.
7/10 for Modified. People use Battle Frontier to counter random Crystal Beaches now. Use Claydol over this. 1/10 foe Limited. If you are in a position to be able to use multiple Supporters in a turn, I'll have you arrested. You cheater. |

The reason why PorygonZ decks are fast, and probably will be a competitive deck in the future...HP and retreat cost is horrible, but it is like you gonna be offensive with this guy. The power is the entire card, and I will only say one word.....Scott |
