Offical Brawl Tournies

Well there was one at my local Gamestop, winner got to go on to round 2 next week, then round 3 etc. etc.. I ended up losing in round one. The rules were really annoying. 1 min. matches and random stages, the entire thing was on luck and sudden death first hits. I have been playing the game all night since like 4:00 this morning. Metaknight is my main, and I won 19 matches with him.

BRAWL RULES.

What was your brawl release experiance?

Same here, got to the finals. Me and my opponent used Fox. He had about 87 damage, I had about 66 damage. He stalled till time and luck hit me. They could have at least do 2 stock, 3 min just to be fair.

Yeah, all of our gamestops weren't open. Too much snow. So looks like we have to wait until morning.

Well at the one i went too.
They had no clue what they where doing.
First they say everyone gets in the battle.
Next only those who signed up.
(Early they sasid we didnt have to sign up)
Then they said they would have two tournys.
Then they cut half of the players out.
I got to play and i used Pikachu.
I killed him once and he killed me once and it went 5min into sudden death.
And due to the lack of knowledge at two games stop they would not take a return (NEW) and they messed up my researve because they didn't have enough.

My son was crushed because we were going to actually go to the midnight launch but they were cancelled because of the snow. He would not have been able to play though since the tournament is 13 and up.

We went to ours only to find out they were Playing Smash Bros "Melee" for the Tourney, and that you needed to bring your own Controller. What kind of Baloney is that? The point of the Tourney was to try out the New Game shortly before Release.

I died while attacking the smash ball.
I mained Ness in melee, so I thought it would be best to go with Lucas. It was a good pick, because I'm used to the jumping style. Anyway, the smash ball appears, I jump and attack it. I attack it again, and then realize Oh snap, I'm falling off the edge. I use PK thunder, but Lucas's is so much faster, I miss myself and die :(

I'm so addicted to Ike it's crazy. I just love his playstyle.

Though 1-5 am was a bit over the top to be playing it though...

I can't wait to try out Lucario, he looks like a beast.

I'd love to enter into some tournies, as I'm somewhat decent at the game. I'd really be able to see how well I stack up to people.

(maybe a few others?)

Lucario is intersting. He is like Mewtwo evolved, but has a similar playing style. Sonic was hard to get to. It took us 4 tries to finally beat him.

Thats gamestop not following the Nintendo rules.
They told us the rules said we could not use our own.
Sounds liek they are lazy to me.

Oh, he is. I think I'm going to main him. After I got home this morning with my copy I sat for 8+ hours and finished Subspace Emissary. Only missing 3 characters since I seemed to have skipped one in Subspace.

Aside from the Standard B (which is vastly superior), I don't think Lucario really has any similarities with Mewtwo.

gamestop tourneys are a joke, stories I have heard the winner or top 4 of that dont even belong there, its sad actually that they have such nice prizes for one of the worst tourneys ever.

I know the gamestop I went to, which didnt even have the tourney had the nunchuck style at the kiosk, and I played on it for the entire classic mode, it was horrendous trying to get control over your char with that thing.

So far I have unlocked all except Toon link, Sonic, and Wolf I believe, dont know if I am missing anyone, I am kind of stuck and dont know what to on the SSE atm, its 85% complete.

my disappointment though with Brawl is, it pretty much went back to the N64 style which wasnt the best, on normal mode 1 smash can kill sometimes, I playing on Wifi and falcon punch someone at like 50% and they go flying off the screen.

But I was thinking to myself at the midnight launch, nahhhh I dont need the strategy guide............................not as I look back, it might of been a good idea to get the darn thing.

The Gamestop dorkily stood around near didn't even have a tourney! Instead, they had a raffle for such hot items as a Big Willy Unleashed Bobblehead Doll (yeah, there were jokes . . a lot of jokes), Mario-themed plushies, and a Wii ZAPPER!!! Of course, even if there HAD been a tourney, I doubt I would have played if I couldn't use the GCN pad.

Also, I stayed up until 11am playing SSE. I didn't want to go to bed, but I was starting to forget how to access the map in The Great Maze. I'm 21, shut up.

the rules were random characters, no items, 1 min matches on final destination, and you had to use the wii-mote and nunchuk. there were 46 people in the event.

i got pokemon trainer for the entirety of the tournament, i ended up having to beat an ice climbers in sudden death for the final match. charizard ftw.

those tourneys cant be taken seriously.

right now its bad to compete in brawl online or with friends due to the spamming of the same attack, sadly some people win with it.

You didn't skip anyone Chris. You can't unlock Wolf or T. Link until after you beat SE and for jiggles you need to have beaten events 1-20. Now, if you're missing anyone else you may have skipped them but if you've beaten SE you should have everyone but the aforementioned three.
