Baby Evolution vs. Caterpie/Metapod SW
Ok. Me and my little brother were thinking about something. My little brother thinks that since
Baby Evolution says this counts as evolving Happiny, that he can evolve into Chansey, then into Blissey. We know that in the past it has been a rule that you can't do that. So my little brother compared it to Caterpire SW Pupate and Metapod SW Emerge. Since it says it counts as evolving the pokemon. Can you use both powers in a turn to evolve? can you use Baby Evolution and then Evolve to BlisseyThanks |

Since the wording "this counts as evolving" is on those powers you could not use the Power and then evolve normally on the same turn. You cannot normally evolve a Pokemon twice on the same turn or the turn it is put into play. However, when you use a Power to evolve a Pokemon, it is not bound by the normal rules of evolution. You can use Caterpie's Power and then turn right around and use Matapod's Power on the same turn (assuming you flip heads). In the case of Chansey though, if you evolve it from Happiny with Baby Evolution, which counts as evolving, the only way to get to Blissey is through normal evolution, and you would have to wait until your next turn to do that.
