Where is the Lost Zone?
I just came to think about something: Where will the Lost Zone be? It must be placed somewhere where it cannot be confused with the discard pile in any way, and I am not sure were this would be without taking the place of Supporters or stadium or god-knows-what.
So, what d'you guys think?

Take a sharpie and draw a box on your playmat marked "Lost Zone". Wherever you put the box is where it goes.

Me thinks it'll be next to the discard pile.

Yeah I reckon next to the Discard pile,
Although like you said it might get muddled up with the discard

I think the problem with that would be that you might confuse the LZ with the DP early game (not much likely) and that some people might abuse it (a little more likely). You could just randomly topple the DP over the LZ, and take a card or two with you when you put it back. Also, placing the LZ next to the DP would decrease the bench space (I don't how big tables you play at in the US, but many places here in Norway there wouldn't be enough space at the tables to do that). |

You call a judge over, tell them you have cards that need to go to the Lost Zone, and they take them and throw them in an incerator. Easy!

The PTOs had a very long meeting regarding the lost zone. We consumed massive amounts of Big Macs while discussing this disturbing new game play. At one point we got into a food fight. fries were flying everywhere. Someone threw a whole Big Mac at me and I caught it with my mouth and ate it. After settling down with our bellies full we decided on a final decision regarding......wait, what did we need to make a ruling on, oh yeah, the lost zone.
Ok here it is: If your opponent puts your cards in the lost zone, this is what you do. You give your cards to the player next to you, he then passes the cards down till the cards reach the end of the table. At the end of the table we'll have a trash can and on that trash can will be a sign, in big bold letters, 10 different colors, and in PTO font "The Lost Zone". The cards go in the trash can. Now, if you're sitting at the end of the table, you just drop your cards in the trash can. After the PTOs wrote up the final draft for this rule, we gave ourselves a raise and had a chocolate shake.

My opinion is that it should be face down between the prizes and place the supporter goes.

I don't even want to know how many problems that would cause, lol.
Besides, Lost Zone is probably going to end up being severely unplayed; I mean, what, 1-4 Pokemon even have attacks using it at all. Unless they start making a serious attempt to incorperate the lost zone, it'll die as a gimmicky thing. And of course, should it become a big thing in the future, hopefully there will be cards to get things out of the lost zone, lol.

Whenever a pokemon card incoporates the lost zone, the affected cards will magically disappear.

![]() i dont know about u guys but sometimes when we play in events it gets some tight we have 3 on a bench an 2 on our second row bench. dont think this is going to be a big deal, along as its not near the discard unk |

Lost Zone= Out of Play like MTG or YGO.
I will be putting mine face up above my deck (or to the right) and discard face up below my deck. [LOST ZONE HERE] DECK --------- [OR LOST ZONE HERE] DISCARD PILE

I think that it will happen something like in Yu-Gi-Oh with cards that have been taken/removed from play. Most likely a seperate pile, not thousands of feet away from teh field or in teh trash can, near your general playing area and they just sit there until end of game, where both players can see them. As of now they seem to be untouchable at this point but later along teh line teh "Lost Zone" will just a fancy way to say discard pile with added restriction, as apposed to a pile of no return.
That is my guess at it.

I would probably go with the area above the deck, like Tina showed. LZ face up above the deck, then deck and discard face up below the deck. I imagine there will be a playmat in the theme decks and we will see it then.

Yeah, until we're told otherwise I plan on having people put them face up either above or to the right of the deck.

You can't know where it goes - it's lost.
I'd assume it will function like 'RFG' (removed from the game) effects in M:tG, where it will be adjacent to your discard pile, but obviously separate (perhaps to the right of, and face down?).

In all seriousness, I hope this question is answered for sure when the set is out, or we might have cheaters on hand....

Yeah, this is something that could be easily abused...
I have to agree with Keith and about half of the thread. Being a Yu-Gi-Oh! player (head of that league there), I'm familiar with the Removed From Play Zone featured in that game. Honestly, the first time I heard about this, I kind of scoffed, laughed, and went to the notion that it'll end up like the one in Yu-Gi-Oh! I am still convinced of that. All this will be is a glorified discard pile in the end, which will be placed above the deck. And as for people saying cheating will be a problem? We do the same thing in Yu-Gi-Oh!, which is a game that statistically has more cheating players, and we rarely have problems with it. |

I have always played with my discard above my deck...
DISCARD DECK ...for some reason. I like the deck closer to me and the discard further away. With the addition of the Lost Zone I will probably play... GIRATINA'S HOMETOWN DISCARD DECK ...Giratina's hometown obviously being the Lost Zone.

Is Discard REQUIRED to be below the deck, or is that at HJ's discretion if it's flexible? It feels unnatural for me to place discard there, so I typically just play it the other way around, and no one ever complains. Is this wrong?
