Timing on fainting spell.

I've seen the other two threads and would like to try explaining it.

If my Gengar has Cessation Crystal attached to it and is KOed, is the CC gone fist, and fainting spell activate, or does the power not work because CC goes down at the same time?

Cessation is still there and so the Power does not activate.

This doesn't apply to the current Modified, so I don't see the sudden interest.
Before applying this to another combo, make sure that it's really the same scenario.
