Hi! I haven't been keeping up with the game lately so I do not really know what decks are "in" and whatnot, in spite of the fact that I read through most of the posts. It seems all types of decks have been popping up and that Gater, Crobat, and Dark Gengar have simmered down. It'd be great if someone could update me on what's going on and how my deck will work in the current environment.

I have a lot of cards, however, I lack cards from the newer sets. I have about 72 Aquapolis cards and 9 Skyridge cards so try not to use those sets extensively. You probably notice that I use all three of the Jumpluffs and think I'm mental or something. Unfortunately, I only have 1 copy of each and I think each of them can be useful, especially the cheap energy attacks and lack of retreat costs.

I didn't really know what else to add until I remembered Scizor and the other Grass Resistant Pokemon and I thought of two solutions: Yanma and Shuckle. Yanma blasts through resistances, has Shockwave, and no Retreat Cost. Shuckle is of different type (which really doesn't matter since his attack does no damage), has a useful power (take that, Electabuzz [Smile] ), and can double poison. However, Yanma is weak to Fire (same as Jumpluff) and Shuckle has a retreat cost. So I just put them both in for now.
I also wanted a Baby and I had some room so I stuck in Tyrouge. I don't want anything that will slow this deck down *coughcleffacough* and Tyrouge seemed better but I'm not sure.

For trainers, Bill and Double Gust are pretty common sense (I think...) and Double Gust relieves me of Special Conditions. Notice how many healing items I have. I think Shuckle and Jumpluff will take very good advantage of these. Pokemon Centers are great in this deck because I'll discard minimal energy and still be able to attack. I would really like it if you refrained from using trainers like Supporters and Elm that prevent you from using cards but if you think it'll make my deck better, mention it.

Energy is pretty clear, right? The single Rainbow I own is for Jumpluff.

Thanks for taking your time to read this and I all help is greatly appreciated.

Use Focus Bands and Gold Berries instead of Potion and Moo-Moo Milk. This deck is very Energy-efficient, so you probably can stand to drop 2-5 of the Grass Energies to beef up your Trainer engine. To further improve your Trainers, you could drop 1-2 each of Shuckle and Yanma, or drop the Shuckles entirely (giving you a completely free retreat deck; if you do this, you can also probably drop 2 Switches). What Trainers to add, you ask? Elm, Juggler, and other card-drawing Trainers come to mind, as do Oracle and other deck-searching Trainers. To counter Fire, you could sneak in a couple of Qwilfish (Revelation, I think). They're flippy, but they have fair chances of doing some heavy damage to anything with a Water Weakness. They also will have (slightly) less trouble against Steel-types. You could add in a couple (read: 1 or 2) of Mirage Stadium, to combo with your Skiploom -- it's Skyridge, though, so you might not have it. Interesting deck idea; I hope it works out for you.

I say that we have some real fun with this, and turn it into the Baby Jumpy deck. When I say fun, I really mean it!!!

For a Baby Jumpy deck, you'll want something like this:

Pokemon (18):
4 Hoppip
1 Skiploom
4 Jumpluff (Aqua)
4 Cleffa (2 Genesis, 2 Promo)
2 Rogue (Discovery)
2 Elekid (Genesis)
1 Pichu

Trainers (33):
4 Elm
4 Bill
4 Desert Shaman
3 Pokemon Trader
3 Oracle
4 Focus Band
4 Double Gust
4 Breeder
1 Town Volunteers
1 Lucky Stadium

Energy (9):
4 Rainbow
4 Cyclone
1 *random*

This deck thrives on using very little energy and decent attack numbers to stall the opponent out. The only real downside to this deck is that it relies a TON on coin flips, which can be unreliable. Just remember that, when you put Lucky Stadium into play, that you never use it. Also, only use the Promo Cleffa when you just Oracled and you don't have any Bill to use it with. Remember to save your Rainbow energy for your Jumpluff only, because his power is only activated when he already has a damage counter on him. Good luck with this thing!!!

Thanks for the help! I can't believe I forgot about Focus Band! They'll really help out Shuckle, Jumpluff, and Tyrouge. Also, the Switch should have been Bill so I fixed that.
As for the Baby Deck, it seems very good but I lack a lot of the cards to make it... (Oracle, Desert Shaman, Cyclone Energy).
I also want to keep Shuckle because he helps early in the game and later when double poison may be needed.
Any other suggestions?

All 3 of the cards that I mentioned are uncommon, and are all relatively easy to find. Oracle is in one of the Skyridge PCDs. Desert Shaman and Cyclone Energy, as I have been told, are very easy to get in booster packs. Also, most people should have a good store of the things that they can trade to you. And, Shuckle really isn't all that good. He costs two colored energy and doesn't really do much. On top of that, the popular Scizor isn't resistant to Grass, and Steelix isn't really seen anymore.

Unfortunately, I will probably be unable to obtain anymore Skyridge cards before the Comic Con tournament because the shops I go to don't stock them. Also, I don't know anyone that plays Pokemon near me so trading really isn't an option and I would really feel uncomfortable not having a deck that I have playtested and practiced with until that day. As for Shuckle, he seemed better when I was viewing him in the binder [Smile] so I stuck 2 back in. Through playtesting, I've realised that it has good potential... just not enough to have 4. Thanks for your Reply. All help is still welcome.
