Doug,
I loved talking about this deck with you at Origins, but I've got to wonder, Alakazam? You've got no way to get there...Maybe the Movie Promo Entei, with that nifty runaway power. Also choice might be a chansey, to absorb a few blows, scrunch it up, and then get scooped up. Further fun could be had with clefairy doll and mysterious fossil. No prizes to be taken there...
Cheers,
Jake Burt

Very nice ideas... We could start a whole new approach to Pokemon with these decks...
Looking forward to seeing you at Gen Con

Oh, by the way all, the intent of this deck isn't to win the match, necessarily, either by decking or other means. The challenge posed by Doug is to take a prize before this deck eliminates itself from the field of battle.

I see abras and Alakazams in the deck but no kadabra or a pokemon breeder (at least ) . What the heck with that (Not even Brock's ninetails )?

How about this . Using Erika's perfum , I'll lure down basic pokemon from your hand and then make sure I'll have a heymaker to ko in one hit one of them (base hitmonchan and his special punch will be perfect here ).

Using pokemon that know amnesia I will disable the attacks that make the defending pokemon shuffling himself and then build that pokemon to 1 hit KO the defending .

I'm sorry I'm writing so much but just one more thing . Using lass and imposters I'll make sure you won't have those scoop ups to put away your benched pokemon and then shuffle the active (I can also use dark flaaffy and his first attack ).

Omega Ant, I congratulate your Strategies
As far as Espeon leaving Breeder out of the Vanish Deck, I am very doubtful that it was a mistake. Psychic Pokemon tend to be rather competive at times. Recall Pokemon the First Movie were MewTwo wants to prove it is better than Mew... Anyway, the Vanish Deck should end the game during round one or two if played correctly.
Take Care, Doug

Actually, it will be easy to get a prize if you use Erika's Jigglypuff...put a Double Colorless Energy on it...and puff, 40 damage(you can add some pluspowers too). And Blaine's Arcanine will kill it too...there's no running from Blaine's Arcanine when you don't have Energy Removals/Super Energy Removals.
Could this be the answer?

Sabrana's Abra Engery Loop. 20, 40 to Abra. Voltorb From the Rocket Set. 20, 40 to Tentacrul. Base Machoke. 20, 40 to Aipon.
All part of my common only deck. There you go.

I got 2000 or so in Kinglers day. I got 7 in Rapadash's dash. Butterfree's Flower Power 4700. 123 In Jumping Dodoro. My all foil deck is finished.

This challenge is extremely simple to reach:
Your opponent simply builds something that will do 30 damage, then waits for you to put a Tentacool into play, then GOW it and KO it. No problem.
Oh, you say you're going to use Alakazam's Pokemon Power Damage Swap to put 2 damage counters on Tentacool, and then use Tentacool's Pokemon Power Cowardice to return it to your hand, thus ridding yourself of 20 damage and preventing the GOW/KO? Sorry, that doesn't work. Straight off the card: "This power can’t be used the turn you put Tentacool into play...".
2nd option: Build something that will do 80 damage (not too difficult these days; Sneasel, 'Gatr, 'Cargo, Chansey, Blaine's Arcy, heck even a Wiggly with 2 PlusPowers attached) and GOW up anything on the Bench, including the 'Zam.
Don't mean to be rude, but this wouldn't even stand up to the old Damage Swap decks with Mr. Mime and Chansey. You've got nothing to stand up front; everthing is designed to hide. When you send Aipom back to your deck, what are you going to put in the Active position? There are only 4 possiblities: Abra, Alakazam, Tentacool or another Aipom. None of them is desirable.
You also don't have any way to replenish your deck, other than Aipom, which won't do much.
And this is all assuming you add either Kadabra or Pokemon Breeder so you can actually get Alakazam in play.
Unless, of course, you actually intend to lose intentionally, either by decking yourself with your 4 Oaks and 4 'Wraths, or by Benching yourself by Scooping Up a lone Basic before your opponent has time to draw a prize. That is certainly possible.

Dan,
losing intentionally, and as quickly as possible, is precisely the point of the deck.

Like they all said, just use a Gust Of Wind, and your deck is screwed completely. No matter who starts first, if I have a Blaine's Arcanine, I say you are in for some serious trouble.

Below is a sample of a typical Game League day with the Vanish Deck. Bring a sense of humor with you and everyone is sure to laugh along with you...
My opening hand is Abra, Misty's Wrath, Tentacool, Super Scoop Up, and three of those Alakazams which are rather useless without Pokemon Breeder
We flip to see who goes first. I get heads. I put Tentacool upsidedown on the table as my opening Pokemon. Both my opponent and I put down prizes. We flip our Pokemon over. I draw a cards thereby starting my turn. (Important to remember) I use Tentacool's Pokemon Power:
Pokémon Power: Cowardice At any time during your turn (before your attack), you may return Tentacool to your hand. (Discard all cards attached to Tentacool.) This power can’t be used the turn you put Tentacool into play or if Tentacool is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
I pick up Tentacool. The Game is over. My opponent has lost the Challenge: They failed to take a prize.
I get 1 point for a game loss, and my opponent gets 2 points for their game win.
I look for a new opponent.
We set up after I lose the coin flip. I have Aipom, 2 Scoop Ups, 1 Purple Energy, 1 Professor Oak, and Abra in my hand.
I put down Abra. My opponent has Cleffa active and a Hitmonchan. My opponent attaches an energy to Cleffa, and Eeeeeeeks, hoping to find a pokemon that is not weak to Psychic.
I play Scoop Up. The game is over. My Opponent has lost the challege. They failed to take a prize.
I get 1 point for my game loss, and my opponent gets 2 points for their game win.
Meanwhile, my first opponent has been calmly shuffling their deck knowing that my second game wouldn't last very long.
So, my first opponent wants a rematch. We set up, and I win the coin flip. I have Aipom on the table. My opponent has Tyrogue. I want to Play Misty's Wrath, Computer Search... but don't have them. I also don't have Scoop Ups. I have three Super Scoop Ups, and three Alakazams. (An awful hand) I draw a card to start my turn, and get Tentacool. (Which I don't want now) I flip tails on all the Super Scoop Ups.
My opponent attaches an energy to Tyrogue and flips tails.
My turn, I draw an enery, and attach it to Aipom. I flip for Baby Rule and get tails. I was hoping to use Aipom's Pilfer attack to remove it from the table which would end the game.
My opponent, amazed that the game has lasted a whole minute, tries again to attack with Tyrogue. He flips tails.
My turn, I draw Misty's Wrath. I play it and find Computer Search. I search for Misty's Wrath. I find Professor Oak and Scoop Up. I decide to try to deck myself out. I play the Oak, Misty's Wrath, 2 Computer Searches, Misty's Wrath, and Oak...
I have decked out, but I must wait another turn to win the Challenge. I decide not to use Aipom's Pilfer Attack because I hope to end the game by decking out.
My opponent tries to attack with Tyrogue and flips tails again.
I cannot draw a card. The game is over. My Opponent has lost the challege. They failed to take a prize.
I get 1 point for my game loss, and my opponent gets 2 points for their game win.
I now have 3 points to my credit and lots of people who want to play me next...
