After seeing some of the uses for Aerodactyl, my son and I decided to Tweak his Kazam deck a little bit more. He really liked the Echo theme deck and loves the new Kazam, so we decided to incorporate Aerodactyl to the mix. Here is what we came up with.

Aero-Kazam

Pokemon 16

4 Abra (2E, 2LC)
3 Kadabra (2E, 1 LC)
4 Alakazam (3E, 1LC)
2 Aerodactyl (Rev)
2 Chansey (E)
1 Snorlax (Promo)

Trainers 27
3 Bill
2 Elm
3 Prof. Elm’s Training Method
3 Pokemon Trader
2 Pokemon Breeder
3 Poke Center
3 Switch
3 Mysterious Fossil
3 Focus Band
2 Energy Search

Energy 17
4 Rainbow
6 Psychic
2 Fire
2 Grass
1 Electric
1 Fighting
1 Water

Most of this was his idea. I just tried to give him focus and had to convince him to not use so much energy.--He likes the Promo Energy--- So what do you think. It abuses both Powers and opens the field even more for Offensive Power . LUK what you think!!

--------------------
Either, you Pokemon Yes, or you Pokemon no. If you Pokemon Guess So, sooner later, "squish" justa like bug Pokemon!!

I really like the idea of using aerodactyl's power to power up the e-alakazam with energy. I've tried some variants of this kind of thing and can suggest: -2 breeder, +1 trader, +1 kadabra. Going straight to alakazam defeats the purpose of the aerodactyl power. I'm sure that this deck can be made even better with some playtesting and fine tuning. Try these suggestions and see how it works for you.

Hello:)

I have been running an almost identical deck to this and I can tell you what to expect as a problem: Pichu and Swarms (other than Kindgra). Pichu will come up and even if you amange to nail it in one flip, they'll burn through two more an bury your Aerodactyl. Usually though, they will survive a flip or two, and maybe nuke your 'Zammers as well while preventing you from attacking. Here is the current version I am running on apprentice. I just extracted the deck, so its fairly bare bones in the descripotion (no Lv given indicates its the earliest version available of that Pokemon):

//NAME: Ancient Emulation
4 Abra EX
2 Aerodactyl L27
3 Alakazam EX
3 Cleffa
3 Kadabra
2 Mew L8
2 Mewtwo L30
3 Copycat
3 Focus Band
1 Fossil Egg
3 Healing Field
2 Mysterious Fossil
2 Pokemon Breeder Fields
2 Pokemon Trader
3 Professor Oak's Research
2 Power Charge
1 Time Capsule
2 Warp Point
13 Psychic Energy
4 Rainbow Energy

Its fairly straight forward: evovle to Alakazam, use Kadabra's moves set or one of your opponent's or your own. [Wink] LC Mewtwo went in for the sole purpose of OHKOing Pichu. Mew is to buy you time if a fast evo gets up and running (re: 'Pluff swarms). It's the version that evo's can't hurt. I am debating throwing in SI Mew instead of LC Mewtwo-it's weaker, but if they don't have a baby active, I can hit all Pichu at once for just one Rainbow Energy and Mew as opposed to 3 Psychic Enrgy and Mewtwo. i am still unsure though. You'll note a lack of recovery Trainers. Between Healing Fields and Kadabra's Recover (which Aerodactyl allows our beautiful 100HP Alakazam to use to heal up to 90 damage), it works well. Similarly, its nice to have Superpsy for a reliable 50 if the opponent is hard to Synchroblast. Based on my reseach, four Rianbow energy should be enough to let you copy most useful moves-the big evo's, particularly in Expedition, need only 2 colored energy with a few exceptions. The rest of the attack cost is colorless. Most Basics and Stage Ones also need only 2 Colored energy most of the time. OTherwise, there are many common "support" Pokemon that need only colorless or one colored costs to attack with. Tyrogue and Cleffa are perfect examples. I posted my deck beasue it is there for you to compare with. It has done okay, but is far from undefeated. If you see anything you like, feel free to use it. If you think it's very bad, don't worry about it (though I suggest you use only EXP Alakzam and LC Kadabra).

Enjoy:)

I think this fix would do:

Pokémon (20)
4 Abra (Expedition)
3 Kadabra (Expedition)
2 Alakazam (Expedition)
2 Aerodactyl (Neo Revelations)
3 Porygon (Neo Destiny)
3 Porygon2 (Neo Revelations)
3 Smoochum (Neo Revelations)

Trainers (18)
3 Copycat (Expedition)
3 Energy Stadium (Neo Destiny)
3 Pokémon Nurse (Expedition)
3 Switch (Expedition)
3 Mysterious Fossil (Legendary Collection)
3 Pokémon Reversal (Expedition)

Energy (19)
4 Rainbow Energy (Team Rocket)
8 Psychic Energy
2 Fire Energy
2 Grass Energy
1 Lightning Energy
1 Fighting Energy
1 Water Energy

I kept the basic strategy, except that I removed the Breeders (personal hate, I use it only in emergencies) and went with a needed number for normal Evolution. I then redid the Trainer mix and added Porygon and Porygon2. The latter can be handy if you're using Alakazam and you're facing someone like Steelix (Porygon2 will let you change a basic Energy to another type, like Metal, for the rest of the turn). I also added a few Smoochum for use against the aformentioned Steelix and other Pokémon using Special Energy.

I wish that there would be a Pokémon game show.

Anyone up for making a TV edition of the Pokémon TCG?

Don't pester me "Add Neo Cleffa"--my area won't allow it!

I don't think you need all the different types of energy. E-Kazam's power is in Syncroblast, not Psymimic.

From the Complete Card Reference:

Alakazam
Pokémon card
P
100 HP
Stage 2 Pokémon
Evolves from Kadabra
Put Alakazam on the Stage 1 card
Weakness: {P}
Resistance: n/a
Retreat cost: {C}{C}
Poké-POWER: Psymimic Once during your turn, instead of Alakazam’s normal attack, you may choose 1 of your opponent’s Pokémon’s attacks. Alakazam copies that attack including its Energy costs and anything else required in order to use that attack, such as discarding Energy cards. (No matter what type that Pokémon is, Alakazam’s type is still Psychic.) This power can’t be used if Alakazam is affected by a Special Condition.
{P}{C}{C} Syncroblast If Alakazam and the Defending Pokémon don’t have the same number of Energy cards attached to them, this attack’s base damage is 20 instead of 80. 80
