I've been tooling around with this since... about september. It's changed radically since then, but more or less kept the same idea.

Pokemon: 16
3 Ho-oh lv. 44
3 Bulbasaur (EX, 50 HP)
2 Ivysaur (EX)
3 Venusaur (EX, Harvest Bounty)
2 Tyrogue
3 Cleffa

Trainers: 29
3 Professor Elm
3 Professor Oak's Research
1 Town Volunteers
3 Double Gust
3 Gold Berry
3 Pokemon Breeder
3 Focus Band
3 Pokemon Trader
3 Healing Fields
2 Switch
2 Pokemon Fan Club

Energy: 15
3 Electric Energy
3 Water Energy
3 Fire Energy
3 Fighting Energy
3 Grass Energy

Fairly simple, quickly turn Ho-oh into a powerhouse with Venusaur. Heal, keep up as seen fit with other cards. The only real problem I've been having is the inability to get out energy as quickly as I'd like... So any help would be appreciated with this. I'm also trying to decide between Healing Fields and Energy Stadium. I've USED Healing Fields in it the whole time, and it seems to help. (On those rare occasions where I can outlast the opponent, forcing them to deck themselves) Energy Stadium on the other hand wouldn't quite be so beneficial to the opponent.

Meh, I've only had time to look over the AQ and Skyridge cards once, I haven't had quite enough money/time to buy any or keep up, so some help here would be nice.

Waz up...

I really don't agree with the switches ESP with Harvest Bounty Venusaur... you are almost good to retreat anyone you wish.

BUT you MUST get SKYRIDGE: Fisherman <- went into MY HoOH deck... Supporter BUT you can get into your hand from your dicard pile 4 BASIC ENERGY cards [Eek!]

IT belongs in Harvest Bounty & HoOH decks.

Goodluck & hope to see ya' MAYBE Comic-Con?

PS How about a TecH ebuzz? Esp with WATER being so popular?

That's just the problem though. I'm having trouble getting energy quickly. So most of the time, any energy I get is laid down IMMEDIATELY. It all goes straight to Ho-oh. Works nicely with Double Gust, and play testing it just seems to work smoother... Although ditching both for two energy (possibly Warp Energy?) could be done.

The Fisherman I'll check out, must missed that one. I'll also consider Electabuzz. This deck here was last updated BEFORE the Best promos, I believe...

As for Comic-con, I've got Finals next week, so for the last month or two I've been unable to keep up with ANYTHING not related to school. Where can I get some info on that?

Two Suggestions:
Expedition/Fossil Energy Search
Aquapolis Furret

Instead of AQ Furret, use EX Clefable. It is a 1 card for 1 basic, instead of 2 cards for any energy. Since there are no special energy in this deck.......

Hmmmmm, only fix I see is

-4 Energy (1Lightning, 1Fire, 1Fighting, 1Water)
+4 Energy (2Grass, 2Psychic)

With Venus needing 2 Energy to be Grass, threw in a few extra, and with Psychic added to deck, Ho-oh can go for maximum damage, 90

Drop 1 Healing Feilds for a Fisherman.

there is always Energy Ark, lets you flip to search for up to and including 2 energy. Seer in AQ, a Supporter that looks at top 6 cards of your deck, and puts all basic into your hand.

I don't have a fix 'cos my Hooh doesn't work right either [Frown]

but I'm not convinced by the venusaur Line... its a lot of resource to possibly get a Hooh by turn three. With Hooh being weak to water it makes me want to play lightning.. so I'd have expected to see elekid in there. elekid isn't great but it doesn't need energy to do damage and that has to be good while you are pumping Hooh. All you have to do is hide behind something ungustable and you should have a nice big threat ready by turn 4 or 5.

now if only I could figure out how to implement my own advice LOL

[BTW Fisherman works great with venusaur]

I would suggest putting in Seer, Fishermen, and maybe energy search. Seer is a must and so is Fishermen or Super energy retrievel, also for fun you may want to add in MYSTERY PLATE: Healing Oasis. Searching for 3 energy or removing all damage from a ho-oh can be an awesome move.
anyhow good luck [Smile]

Hm.

Seer also seems to be a good idea, although I'm not sure what exactly I could ditch for some of these cards. I've thought of getting rid of the Venusaur line, but that's just part of the deck. (That and it's saved my butt many MANY times, if I can place about 10 energy in FIVE turns, I'm off fairly good I'd say)

Any ideas for what to get rid of? I already know I have plenty of drawing power for POKEMON, just not energy...

-2 Tyrogue
-2 Healing Fields
-1 Focus Bands
-1 Fire Energy

+2 Electabuzz
+3 Energy Search
+1 Electric Energy

With Energy Search you should be able to actually use Venasaur and put 2 energies at a time on your Ho-Oh.
Electabuzz is for water, very splashable and 60-80 damage vs. water for 2 energy. You may want to play 1 Electabuzz and add 1 Fisherman supporter

My 2 cents. I put Ho-Oh with Xatu, Use Xatu (skyridge) with a rainbow and TM's to confuse/sleep while I build up Ho-Oh on bench. It is a fun deck not sure about its tournament worthiness though...

Good for you concentrating on finals. Comic Con in San Diego is referenced in a message on the TCG News board here and a web page you can patrol.

Hope you'll be there!

No-Gust Raikou or Suicune/EXP Clefable/Warp NRG seems like a possible alternative to HB Venusaur for Ho-oh.
