Hey, I just built this Dark Venusaur Noclock deck. (it is modified by the way) Just wanted to know what you think. For those of you who don't know what Dark Venusaur or Dark Ivysaur do. (or just haven't got one at their battlezone league yet) here's the info:
Dark Ivysaur 50hp
Pokepower: Vine Pull Whenever Dark Ivysaur retreats, choose one of your opponent's benched pokemon, annd switch it with his or her active pokemon. Fury Swipes GG Your opponent chooses and puts 3 markers on his or her pokemon, (a pokemon can have more then one marker on it) then at the end of your turn it does 10 damage to that pokemon for each marker on that pokemon. Then remove the markers at end of turn.
Weakness: Fire / Resistance: 0 / Retreat cost: CC
Dark Venusaur: 70hp
Horrid Pollen: GGG 30 damage Flip 2 coins, if one is heads, the defending pokemon is asleep and poisened, if both are heads the defending pokemon is confused and poisened, if both are tails, it is Paralyzed and Poisened.
Weakness: Fire/ Resistance: 0/ Retreat: CC
Okay that's that's what the pokemon do, so here's the decklist:
Pokemon:
4 Bulbasaur (expedition) 3 Dark Ivysaur (winner best promo) 4 Dark Venusaur (winner best promo) 3 Hoothoot (neo genesis) 3 Nocktowl (neo genesis) 2 Murkrow (neo genesis) 2 Cleffa (neo genesis) 2 Tyrogue (neo discovery)
Trainers:
3 Double Gust (neo genesis) 4 Balloon Berry (neo revelations) 1 Pokemon Breeder (LC) 1 Rockets Hideout (neo revelations) 1 Pokemon Fan Club (Aquapolis) 2 Professor Elm (neo genesis) 2 Copycat (expedition) 2 The Boss's Way (LC) 2 Pokemon Trader (LC) 3 Bill (LC)
Energies: 12 Grass 4 Darkness
Here's the strategy: Use Cleffa's Eeeeeeek in the begining to get the hand you need, and hopefully in a few turns get a murkrow and a Dark Ivysaur going, play balloon berry on Ivysaur and retreat to choose who you want active, Mean Look with Murkrow, and start attacking with feint attack. Then after that, use the searh/draw cards to find a swarm of Noctowls, and Glaring Gaze to get switches, double gusts, and such out of their hand and if by then they have a heavy hitter, and your Murkrow isn't safe, retreat it, Glaring gaze to get rid of the switch type trainer cards, and Bring out Dark Venusaur to Horrid Pollen. (Dark Venusaur's attack is very affective if they have no switches, but if they do, hey, that's where nocktowl comes in!
Most people will think "Hey why does he have the Balloon Berry? Why not put in switch instead?" but Balloon Berry is more effective with Dark Ivysaur's vine pull, and double gust is there if I'm stuck by a condition or got Mean Looked by my opponent's Murkrow.
We'll that's all, and please give me your comment's and questions about the deck! =)

I liek the concept.. but why not do a Muk/Muk Dark Venusaur deck. LC Muk helps against all the powers Lurking about, Muk Aq gives you Burned and Poisoned and then D. Venusaur gives you other Status effects... what more could you ask for?? Oh yeah, Different Weaknesses!! Your deck has potential though... I would just try a Muk/Muk deck!!! Toss in some energy Switch too! They work better than most think, plus you can reduce your energy count a little!!

well not to put you down but i've tried almost everthing with this and it dies just too quick so i would suggest playing it with venucenter. heres what i would do:
Pokemon:
4 Bulbasaur (expedition) 2 Dark Ivysaur (winner best promo) 2 ivysaur(exp) 2 Dark Venusaur (winner best promo) 2 venusaur(lc) 2 Cleffa (neo genesis) 2 Tyrogue (neo discovery)
Trainers:
3 Double Gust (neo genesis) 2 Balloon Berry (neo revelations) 3 Pokemon Breeder (LC) 2 Rockets Hideout (neo revelations) 1 Pokemon Fan Club (Aquapolis) 4 Professor Elm (neo genesis) 3 Copycat (expedition) 4 Pokemon Trader (LC) 1 town volunteers 3 pokemon center 3 focus band
Energies: 14 Grass
this way you will last longer btw i dont think you need gold berry all that much for two reasons, 1) the centers will let you live longer,2)i couldnt find space.this should work better though due to the fact that in modified status isnt everthing but this deck covers the main two(healing and big damage)

Your trainers are hurting.
3 Balloon Berry 2 Pokemon Breeder 2 Rockets Hideout 2 Pokemon Fan Club 1 Town Volunteers 4 Professor Elm 3 Copycat 2 The Boss's Way 3 Pokemon Trader
That is 1 over what your other set of trainers was so do this aswell:
-1 Darkness

Dark Venusaur has one of the tightest attacks there is. The status possibilities are awsome. The deck looks pretty good, except for a few things. Maybe this will help?
- 1 Dark Venusaur (3 is plenty) - 4 Balloon Berry (don't build more than 1 Venu. at a time and this shouldn't be a problem) - 1 Breeder (u can't attack until turn 3 NE way) - 3 Bill - 1 Tyrogue
+ 2 Elm + 2 Oak's Research + 1 CopyCat + 3 Focus Band + 1 Trader/Boss' Way (which ever u value more...prolly Trader) + 1 Town Volunteers
Hopefull the deck should run more smoother/faster now. I really wanted to add in another Fan club, but the list was VERY tight. You could always drop a Bulbasaur for one. a 3-3-3 line works great with 2 Fan Club. The only other problem I can see...is that your gonna get schooled by Fire...in a bad way. Your original deck list had no protection. Thats why I added in the Focus Band.
Good luck with the deck and I hope I helped...

Psyduck, I agree with what you said except for taking out the breeder. Your only looking at the first few turns. They could be useful mid to late game.

Response: Sorry, I know Venucenter is a stronger deck, (I already have one) I just play with this deck for fun.

Response: Yeah, Muk/Muk is great. Play, apuapolis for fighting, and LC muk to stop aq.muk's annoying power, and your opponents ones! Yeah, I'm already building my friend a Muk/Muk/Blissey deck. Use the Revelation Blissey or Aq. Muk to fight, whatever is good against your opponent,(they protect each other's weak/res) Blissy's come into play poke power is not affected by LC Muk, only the powers that stay in play are. SO you can stop your opponent's powers while using Blissey's come into play pokepower and hurt your opponent. (Expecially if they play Boost/Charizard/Buzz or Gatr/Parasect). It's Like a faster version of Crobat/Muk/Murkrow.

Yeah, thanks, that helped alot, I think I should keep in at least 2 Balloon Berrys though, just for when I'm stuck, or for retreating with D. Ivysaur. Well, thanks 4 the help! =')

People - realise that LC Muk turns Vine Pull off, and that Vine Pull turns all Balloon Berry Trainers into Gusts of Wind...
A nice concept for a deck.
