The basic strategy is to get a vaporeon and a dewgong out at the same time. Denying energy being attached with dewgong and then moving what energy they do attach with vaporeon

well, not really. freeze lock (as per wizards chat ruling last thursday) wears off as soon as your opponent's active retreats. and it's not as if they can't attach to benched pokemon that turn, if your freeze lock coin flip is heads in the first place.

i'd use dewgong more for crushing ice, play a broken ground gym to get an extra 10 damage on big basics or something like that.
