Author Topic: Suggestion for the Deck Section Rocket's Sandshrew Member # 56166 posted August 23, 2002 08:55 AM             In addition to the deck forum rules at the top of the page, would it be too much to ask to have a link to some basic deckbuilding guidelines somewhere in there? I mean...some people post decks there that just make you wanna go =/ (You know what I'm talking about...the decks with 32 energies, all singles, and 7 evo chains.) ...and it'd be nice to be able to have something to point to and say "Hey, go here, and read these guidelines, and you can make a deck that doesn't look like...that." I know this is a place to help each other, but it has gotten worse over the last year. I used to fix (or help with) about 3 decks daily on here! But, recently, the quality of decks being posted here is making me go =\. (Raikou was one but he disappears when school is in session) I can ALWAYS count on YOU making positive comments and contributing to decks. THIS is a good recommendation. Can I ask for help? I'll wander around the WotC site and look to see if there are any around. DO you know of any. I will have to discuss this with the other MODS and our WotC Supervisor. CAVEAT: Linking to OFF site articles i think will be impossible WHEN we know of some VERY good articles written elsewhere. Hmmm, WHAT IF, The profs write DECK building strategies, get on the WotC website... THAT would make life easier. *Will work on this. Baboon, Glad you like the Idea...if you're up for it, go ahead and write something...no guarantees we'll use it, but the more input we have the better... Phil, yeah...that's exactly what I mean. =/ IPGeek, wow...I'll take that as a compliment...thankx! I don't have any specific articles in mind...and I'm sure I couldn't write one...I'm far from articulate...and I'd get too into tecH and stuff, and noobs would get even more lost. I seem to vaguely recall somebody posting something decent on Pojo a while back...I think I'm going to look there for a while. [Edit:] I read some of those articles...they're on the right track, trying to teach you how to use ratios and probability to your advantage, but they get into how you should play at least 16 basics, and 4-2-1 evolution chains. Uh that was my fear SOME of the articles are OK BUT not GREAT in OUR way of creating viable/competitive decks. Those articles may be written FOR the beginner not the casual player we would like to TEACH to become a BETTER deck builder. HEY We need an ARTICLE on TecH, Those have always been in the RUINS and such, NOT here, we need a good one for the advance casual player. Baboon, if somehow MTM or the knew guy in charge of The Prof program... can accept your articles for our site PLEASE write them. I'll talk to Voltorb43 to re-submit the ones I found on pokeschool... It might not be a bad Idea to start fresh tho, with Neon being just over a week away. But again...I'm not a writer...there are people reading this that can write MUCH better articles then I can...
