18 poke 3 drowzee (aq) 3 hypno (aq) 3 misdreavous (neo) 2 murkrow 2 doduo (lc) 2 dodrio (lc) 2 cleffa 1 tyroge
17 nrg 10 psy 3 recycle 3 dark 1 warp
25 trainers 3 elm 3 copycat 3 trader 4 focus 4 double gust 1 pokemon reversel 2 switch 1 traveling salesmen 1 apricorn forest (way under-used card...i was enlightened by naut) 1 healing fields 2 town volunteers
strategy is interesting....use misdreavous....night eyes to sleep them..hold on to your life with focus....if they wake up next turn retreat for free because of dodrio and sleep pendelum them with hypno...then retreat back for free and persish song them .....ive play tested it against naut and i feel it is solid....focus flips are important and i find that the games are long and hard fought so i added another town volunteers to prolong the game
if the pokemon you night eyes is switched or double gusted away you use your double gusts to get them back out and sleep pendelum them to perish song....
an obvious strat would be to use dark gengar but i decided to stick with this strat because it frees more space for trainers and i feel it moves faster as well as an easier setup...so dont suggets dark gengar
what do you think?
any suggestions or hints [ February 22, 2003, 09:37 PM: Message edited by: rigamortistortoise ]

Hey, after watching the game between you and Naut it was obvious that this deck really is solid. Dodrios were a good idea and overall the deck seemed to work well. Made for an interesting game. Really nice job. No suggestions here.

I used to have a similar deck, though I opted to use the Dark Gengar. Either way, Perish Songing is way fun I'd reccomend dropping the Murkrows. Murkrow is a good card, but you don't really have all the support needed to use them to their fullest. I'd reccomend dropping them and the Darkness Energies for another Misdreavus, Drowzee, and maybe some Psychic Energy. You might also consider Energy Stadium. I found it to be a real pain when my Misdreavus went down and took 3 energy cards with it. You've got the Town Volunteers which will work too, but Energy Stadium will get the cards into your hand. I like the strategy though. Play around with it and see how it goes. Good luck.

Try some Metal on Misdreavus.

Great deck Gary!...Before I EVEN want to suggest any changes I want to play against it a few more time with a couple of current decklists, while not trying too hard to really tech or counter against it. Let me tell you people do NOT take this deck lightly. This is one of those rare decks that plays WAY stronger than it looks on paper, and I am not talking about JUST lucky Focus Band flips like Gary (rigamortisetortise) was referring to. This deck can repeatedly take down BIG stage 2's and ugly beasts coated with metal. I even played it with a Dark Gengar/Hypno deck I am testing and it was faster and meaner. The Dodrios allow the Hypno's power to be used whenever needed to assure a Perish Song. Obvious enemy would be Espeon. Let's try it again Gary...great idea!

Cool Deck. Any thought of switching your Drowsee to the LC ones. LD Hypnosis seems to be a power that would work well in this deck. Just a thought.
Understand that it would make this deck a little more "Pichu Prone" as well.

naut...there are many battles ahead of us...dont worry
thanx to all who reply
i like aq drowzee..first attack is good for early game and yes pichu is already not nice to the hypno line..i dont want to risk putting myself to sleep
yes i did drop the murkrow line thanx for the advise
the metal is a great idea that never crossed my mind (and im usually good at that) but misdreavous takes 3 nrg as it is to attack..maybe if it was 2 psy and a colorless to perish song instead of 3 psy..to much nrg to worry about..especially with 50hp poke...good idea though
- 2 murkrow - 3 dark + 1 drowzee + 1 misdreavous + 2 psy + 1 nrg stadium
thanx to all who replied....kepp em coming
