I like your deck it has class and style. It also has lots of Professor Elms and Gold Berrys These are my favorite cards. Being a Professor, I am playtesting heavily in the new Modified format: Neo Forward. It will become legal in September, but Professors are suppose to play it now. In the Neo Forward format this deck would play quite well, but in Unlimited you should expect to get thrashed a lot by Blastoise and Wigglytuff no matter what deck you put together. That's why Wizards created these new formats so people could play something other than the same old thing every time.
You have 2 EcoGym in your deck and energy removal. I would choose one or the other not both. You also have Energy Removal and Super Energy Removal. I don't like Super Energy Removal because it takes away one of your cards as well as two of theirs. Most people don't put enough energy in their decks, so if you want to play a trick on them use four energy removal and zero super energy removal. They might run out. But Macargo need LOTS of Energy. I vote for 3 EcoGym and leave all the removals out. Try this card in their place: Exp. All (Neo 4 rare trainer.) The trouble with this trainer is it is an elusive rare (I don't have many, and I would not trade them away.) This card catches a basic energy from a fainted pokemon and attaches it to the pokemon that is wearing Exp. All. Not much good if the wearer is the one that faints though and it gets in the way of the Gold Berry, but it is something to think about. A lot of Fire Trainers are playing the holo Entei in their decks. This is a dramatic card that tosses out the top five cards of your deck, but attaches any fire energy to fire pokemon that are in those 5 cards. It also tends to toss a lot of important trainers in the trash can. If you don't mind zero "energy removal" in your deck we could actually make this deck better and make it legal for tournament play.
2 Slugma Neo3 2 Slugma Neo4 (these 2 are about the same) 3 Magcargo 3 Houndour Neo2 (Plunder) 2 Houndoom (don't know which ones you have but ------they all look good.) 2 Elekid (good against water and its looks like -----you are wanting to spread your weakness out. 3 Cleffa (I am glad you put this in) 1 Entei Promo (Flashy card and great to stall ----just stick it out front w/o energy ----unless you are fighting water it will probably ----shuffle itself back into the deck instead of ----getting knocked out.) 4 Professor Elm 4 Pokemon Trader (replaced computer search) 4 Gold Berry (or Focus Band) 3 EcoGym 2 Super Energy Retreival (to put the energy right ----where we want it--in our hand.) 4 Bill (to speed thing up) ---I took out Double Gust, though I almost always ---play it. Macago moves energy arround, but ---double gust lets them choose. Since Macargo --can adjust his attacks just leave him up front ----and pound away. 4 Darkness Energy 17 Fire Energy

i like your deck. a problem with it though, why do you have magby in there? i agree with the professor on this, ecogym or energy removal, one or the other because that could be bad during a tight, crucial part in the game.hope your deck turns out great!

Holo Entei can help you to attach fire energies to Magcargo. [ July 02, 2002, 12:23 AM: Message edited by: Water Pokemon Master ]

Focus Bands give you a chance to stay in the game longer. Also switch (unlimited) or Balloon Berry allows you to regroup because Macargo puts one energy on your new active pokemon. This can help you regroup your Macargo that has throw most of its energy away. If you have Holo Entei and want to put him in, your Dark Pokemon will have to leave and you will need more Fire Energy and Scoop up. Scoop up is to get Entei back into your hand and use him all over again, combined with Macargo this is a powerful deck. It is hard to make. We have to put LOTS of Fire energy in just to make sure our 5 cards have a few fire in them. It is common for Entei to create decking out problems, but use Cleffa's attack to shuffle your hand into your deck. This will put your 12 card hand into your deck and get 7 cards back out, increasing your deck by 5 cards.
Entei Decks look like this:
3 Macargo 4 Slugma 4 Cleffa 2 Elekid 3 Entei Holo (not Promo) Pokemon Power says when you play Entei from your hand (do not use Pokemon march with Entei that is playing him from your deck) draw 5 cards--anything that is not fire energy is discarded. anything that is fire energy can be attached to a fire Pokemon. Your turn is over. 4 Professor Elm 4 Focus Band 4 Pokemon Trader 3 Scoop Up 2 Time Capsule Fill up the rest of the deck with fire and hope you don't get a bad hand. Everybody does sometime or other. 27 Fire Energy
In Swiss rounds (tournament play), 4 wins and 1 loss is considered extremely good. No deck is going to win all the time. Though Master Trainer Mike has a deck that wins 90% of the time. He never uses it anymore. He says it is boring to win all the time with the same old deck.
