Exactly what kind of response are you looking for Yoshi? Do you want comments for the entire system or do you want individual modules critiqued?
for example in your Slowking "module", there's no way you should just yank out your double gusts. rather I'd: -3 grass -2 Pichu -2 Potion -2 Maint. -1 Double Gust
+3 Pokes +3 Kings +1 Psy +3 Switch
BTW, it's Exp_e_dition

My philposiphy is that once you start toying around with it, it's your deck (a spinoff of mine, but nevertheless a deck designed for your particular needs). Feel free to critiqiue any portion of the deck, whether it's the core of the base state or one of the many variants. Heck, create your own new variant. That's the whole idea. Don't just copy this deck-you won't get the most out of it that you can. Do exactly what 'Naut did-change the deck to what you thought was needed. These example I put out are just that-examples. They might be the best solution to a given problem, but then again they might not. They're there to show the flexibility of the deck concept.
You see, this isn't just supposed to be a deck. It's a learning experience that teaches people how to counter various types of decks. It ain't a bad deck, either.
So, go ahead folks, have at. Rip it to shreads. Believe me, I'll be disappointed if you don't.
'Naut: Very interesting variant there. I like the way you managed to save those Full Heal Energies. I'll have to try that one sometime.

Grrr... I am going to kill IBM. Whose idea was it to put forward/back keys just below shift?
Okay, here's the abbreviated explanation of how things work:
Lt. Ledian is the main hitter, and Lt. Golduck can back it up against fire and metal Pokemon, as well as KO babies (Core Blast foils that metal Cleffa plan)the remaining Pokemon counter various types of Pokemon you may find. Double gust is really nice since the highest retreat in the deck is 1. There is a weakness in the deck, however, in that it has little reliable damage.
Regarding the modularity: When I label a card as modular (as 1/3 of this deck is) that means you should consider changing that card if you think another would be better. Of course, you're completely welcome to fiddle with the main Pokemon as well-these are just my reccomendations.
I hope that explains the deck well enough. Any questions, of course, can be posted here.

Have u considered Lanturn from Neo Revelation? It can take care off pre-Kingdra and take care of fire too... And if you still fear Steelix tech in some Promo Smeargle. That is a suggestion.

I can't believe there is no Steelix version with the ultimate wall. But I guess that would require removing Lt. Golduck. Oh well.

Swanton: Interesting, but I do prefer Lt. Golduck, as it does well against a wide range of threats (including fire and metal). However, I would be interested to see how Lanturn works out.
Cmon: That would be rather interesting, however it would require significant deck modifications. Judging by your post however, it seems you've discovered the extremely aggrivating combo between Lt. Ledian and Metal Pokemon.
These two pokemon do combo with others. I merely feel that this combination shows the best synergy. However, I encourage you to experiment with the deck. Maybe you'll teach me something about it (I hope so!).

I just LOVE the whole "modular" thing! It really adds a whole new dimension to deck design.
Don't let them tear you down, Yoshi. I think you have the next BIG archetype here. When you win this year's Prof Challenge, then people will know who the REAL master is!
Of course, one look at your AMAZING post count would give that away immediately...

I like your idea, its much like what bomie has posted before. The .muk idea. He basically took the trainer engine for his kingdra/muk and made a few variations of the pokemon and energy in order to fit it into other decks. [ October 02, 2002, 08:14 PM: Message edited by: IndigoMaster ]

Personal preference is not the exact phrase. The local metagame dictates your choice. Of course, it takes some experimentation to find the right combination. It's a great exercise in learning how to counter other decks. Each variant has strengths and weaknesses.
