im a beginer, so no player-hater comments please [Wink] . i created these two decks with cards i just aquired to help me and my friend learn and get used to the game. if anyone spots any glaring errors i couldve made in either deck, or notice energy quantities that seem out of wack, id appreciate the notice. other comments are greatly appreciate as well. my intention is to utilize these decks with the new modified format. i apologize in advance, i dont know the neo sets by name, so i will describe their symbol. sorry.

Fiery Generator

this deck is built with B81 Amphoros's Energy Connect Pokepower and B39 Electabuzz's Reflect Energy attack. quite simply amphoros work's on the sidelines while electabuzz dukes it out. B29 spearow and B94 fearow hold off the fighting camp and the fiery basics take care of grass opponents. some houndoor and houndoom take advantage of the fire energy and fight off darkness-weak physic pokemon, however rare they may be. truth be told i was running out of trainer cards. but bill makes a cameo with maintenence and so does oak with research. Oak's research would be utilized to find ampharos's family as well as master ball.

To take away the weekness to fire, i added some water pokemon i liked, as well as some water pokemon resistant to lightening, just in case i couldnt get out enough fighting.

OK first thing we need to do is sort out your Pokemon, lets concentrate on a main line of Nidoking

4 Nidoran Male (Aquapolis, new look)
4 Nidorino (Aquapolis)
3 Nidoking (Aquapolis Holofoil)

Now you need something against Grass so put in:

3 Magmar (Expedition, also new look)

For a bit of power:

2 Elekid (Genesis, 1 star on top of and to the right of the other)
2 Cleffa (Genesis)

So that's 18 Pokemon

Onto trainers:

4 Switch
4 Forest Guardian

Max these 2 out, they are brilliant

4 Gold Berry
4 Moo-Moo Milk

These help keep your Pokemon up

4 Professor Elm
2 Copycat

Just to make sure you get what you want

So that's 22 trainers, leaving 20 slots for energy

4 Rainbow (Count as any type, Team Rocket set (R symbol) or Aquapolis)
10 Fighting
4 Grass
2 Darkness (Just to increase damage in tight situations)

So the final decklist is:

POKEMON (18)
4 Nidoran Male (AQUAPOLIS)
4 Nidorino (AQUAPOLIS)
3 Nidoking (AQUAPOLIS)
3 Magmar (EXPEDITION)
2 Elekid (GENESIS)
2 Cleffa (GENESIS)

TRAINERS (22)
4 Switch (BASE)
4 Forest Guardian (AQUAPOLIS)
4 Gold Berry (GENESIS)
4 Moo-Moo Milk (GENESIS)
4 Professor Elm (GENESIS)
2 Copycat (EXPEDITION)

ENERGY (20)
4 Rainbow (AQUAPOLIS)
10 Fighting
4 Grass
2 Metal (GENESIS)

Sets:-

Old-look cards, have symbol between the attacks and the picture on the right

BASE has no symbol
GENESIS has one star behind and to the left of another

New look cards, have symbol below the attacks and to the right of retreat cost

EXPEDITION is a lowercase E with a circle in the middle
AQUAPOLIS is a pyramid inside a water droplet

Hope this helps you out, feel free to AIM or MSN me

thank u very much burakki. for clarification, i meant Killer Weed to fend off not only fighting and lightning but fire as well with the water cards. it seems like fire could desimate this deck. do u have any good strategies at fending off fire decks with this variation of killer weed? the grass energies appear scarce, do u suggest any card-finding trainers? does the magmar u suggested utilize fire energy? if so then the rainbow energy in ur suggestion would be all that could power its fire requirements . . .

Poké-Power: Earth Rage: Once during your turn (before your attack), if Nidoking is your Active Pokémon, you may flip a coin. If heads, put a damage counter on each of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. This power can't be used if Nidoking is affected by a Special Condition.
[2FF] Giant Horn (50+)Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 50 damage plus 30 more damage.
Weakness: Grass
Resistance:Lightning

This is the Nidoking I have suggested, it doesn't have a weakness to fire, I have counteed the grass weakness with magmar, if you need water (if fire is very big near you) just take out the Elekid and put in Quilfish...

POKEMON (18)
4 Nidoran Male (AQUAPOLIS)
4 Nidorino (AQUAPOLIS)
3 Nidoking (AQUAPOLIS)
3 Magmar (EXPEDITION)
2 Quilfish (GENESIS)
2 Cleffa (GENESIS)

TRAINERS (22)
4 Switch (BASE)
4 Forest Guardian (AQUAPOLIS)
4 Gold Berry (GENESIS)
4 Moo-Moo Milk (GENESIS)
4 Professor Elm (GENESIS)
2 Copycat (EXPEDITION)

ENERGY (20)
4 Rainbow (AQUAPOLIS)
10 Fighting
4 Grass
2 Metal (GENESIS)

I specifically picked Pokemon that need very few grass energies for you, the Nidorino and Nidoran Male need only 1 grass energy (or rainbow energy) and the Magmar needs 1 fire, which will be powered by rainbow, with Cleffa and Elm you will easily draw your energy cards.

I hope this helps
