Author Topic: Oh Man! MMF Espion Slowking Magby Guru Member Member # 55228 posted August 12, 2002 08:23 PM             Okay this is my MMF deck that i played at worlds along with my two other brothers, tim and jonathan. I think that its a very viable deck and is also VERY good. So here is my deck, enjoi. 4 poke 4 king 4 evee 4 espion 3 cleffa 1 elekid 2 promo mew 4 elm 4 bill 4 trader 1 Time Capsule 3 scoop up 3 focus band 1 pokemon tower 1 energy stadium 17 phycic energy Okay so the whoel purpose of this dekc is to get down evves fast and 2 slowpoke on your first to second turn. Then the next turn evolve and use evees chain reaction to set up so fast that you'll have your opponents head spinning. Elekid is for Horsea a main competitor in this enviroment along with Dark Blastoise and for when you get baby or slowking locked by crow or when you just want to stall and deal a decent amount of damage at the same time. Then attatch focus bands to your evees and get ready to attack. Since there is no way to heal yourself of damage in this deck you want to disable your opponent form doing a large amount of damage to your espions as soon as possible, that is where promo mew comes in. Put out the mew in front of their big hitter and then confuse it. After that bring out Espion and use phycic for at least thirty, this really causes tourble for every deck out there besides the neo haymaker decks. If you get locked or have damage on a mew or on pokemon on the bench or if you need to make more room on the bench thats when scoop up becomes a must and as i know most of you are thinking, 'scoop up is a waste of space', but in fact it is a complete life saver and Lifeline of the deck. This deck is very good IMO and with some tweaking can easily be the best deck in MMF IMO. This is just my oppinion and no one elses. In the case of an umbreon or a murkrow just confuse with mew then bite with evee or use an elekid. Its the best chance you have of winning, and it will work. The Pokemon Tower just kills kingdra and stops them of using their valuable recycle energy and since the dekc runs such little energy oen is able to see that this lone trainer can shut down the deck, seeing as how you lock the gym in play with slowkings. It works well. I played a version at a DCI mmf tourny last weekend that was similar to Lukes with the SI jigglie & krow and took 2nd. I could be wrong, but doesn't mew stops dark gengar? I also like scoop up but you loose king when u scoop. My main issue with the deck is muk. With out double gusts/ballon berry you can't get rid of the pesky slimeball. Anyway. nice deck. Yeah ill try to find a way to fit balloon berry and also Double Gust. I see the main problem as not having Umbreon, this card needs to go in my deck. I would take out maybe 1 espion and another card and remove 4 psy energy for 4 darkness energy and then another 2 for 2 Rainbow Energy. That sounds good but i also need to find room for some balloon berry and some double gust. I liek what you guys have said! Thanks a lot i will definitely tweak around with your guys ideas! Surely you intend to attack with slowking if neccessary. Scoop Ups will get around a possible lock so why is it so important to add DG? Advocating the use of Feint Attack makes your mews look like easy prizes. Will removing the mews+elekid weaken the deck against Kingdra? Lastly: You can flip 39 tails in a row and you play Slowking? I would highly recommend to use the promo chain reaction eevee. It's definitely on its way to being one of the popular MMF deck of choice. I have already seen some versions of it on the board. Hmmm, being the PM (Professional Mizer) that you is, you will always come up with the winning deck. You're pretty much on the right track by adding the Umbreon/Darkness/Rainbow, Balloon Berrys and Double Gust. As to how many BBs and DGs, maybe 2 of each. And what about Pichu now that Iggly would probably be overplayed as well. As for the Promo Mew, it's probably 1 of the best tech card out there against the evos but if Murkrow or Umbreon is lurking to Feint Attack the purple critter, that's scary. PS - if you ever want to find out what a Murk taste like, just let me know, I'll bring some extra ones. Peace. Oh amn i need to bring GATRaid if im goign to do that. Guys the reason why i cant take out the mew is because its the staple of the deck, its what makes it work agianst every other deck. I need to keep it in here its the promo mew lilypad btw and is AMAZING. I also cant remove the scoop ups i found otu because they save me from baby locks and also for those times when i start off with one 'stupid' slowpoke, lol. I can see why the Mews are important. It lost to a variant of Nick15's Ninetails deck too. I'm a fan of both Feint and Swift so tend to be wary of Mew, but that said I'm stuggling in the new MMF to creat decks that can deal sufficient damage to avoid forever loosing to Gold Berries. I haven't even tried playing against Kingdra yet. Yes , he was my baby. As for Genagar, i havent playtested much against that purple beast, but i am thinking that he will give me a run for my money. And dark youth thanks for the fixes, and yes Rainbow Energy is allowed because it was the Leagues first season end of tournament promo card handed out. Thanks to everyone for all the great fixes, although i think i need to stay a 4/4 on my Slowkings, they are the STAPLE of the deck, lol. Once again thanks for the fixes.
