I saw a deck at the league today that I thought was interesting. It was a Gatr Deck based on the Chomp Feraligatr, level 56. Although this isn't the deck he was playing, seeing Chomp inspired me to build a deck around him.

I kinda felt sorry for this guy as he was always overlooked for his famously successful big brother (known as riptide in the gatr family) and his meaner cousin (feared by babies through the Pokemon Universe). So here's my Chomp Gatr deck (still can't believe I wrote this paragraph).

//NAME: Steel Chompigatr
// Pokemon
2 Cleffa
3 Croconaw L34
3 Feraligatr L56
3 Onix L40
2 Suicune L25
3 Steelix
4 Totodile L20
// Trainers
2 Balloon Berry
4 Bill
2 Double Gust
4 Gold Berry
3 Pokemon Trader
4 Professor Elm
2 Broken Ground Gym
1 Time Capsule
// Energy
4 Metal Energy
14 Water Energy

I did a lot in this deck to try to slow down the other guy. That's because I think putting these 2 guys together may be a fairly slow deck. I put in a couple of Suicunes to keep from getting gusted out before I was ready. Also the Croconaw used has the Jaw Clamp attack, again disabling the double Gusts. Also the default Gym is Broken Ground Gym, as this could hurt the other guy's maneuvers and I probably won't be using Double Gusts unless something severe happens (like a Murkrow lock on a Cleffa).

One thought that I didn't put in but thought about was removing 4 water energy for Rainbow. The reasoning here is that there may be a time that I would want to add a damage to Chompigatr to get to flip for more damage.

The advantages of this combination is they cover each other's weaknesses well. Chompigatr can OHKO most fire guys and Steelix is n unmovable wall against most plant guys.

Thoughts appreciated.
