Scyther is fast, but not as fast as Scizor.

Scyther is strong, but not as strong as Scizor.

Scyther has a few attacks, but Scizor has more attacks.

Scyther is a Grass Pokemon, Scizor is not(HAHAHA!!!)

IMO, you're being a bit inflexible, but I'll see what I can do. I'm not much good at modifying MF decks, but I'll see what I can do.

1. You may want more Mysterious Fossils or Fossil Eggs.
2. Instead of Breeder Fields, I recommend Professor Elm's Training Method.
3. You may want to either add one more Kabuto or take out one Kabutops.
4. Think about Pokemon Breeder. It's kinda losing popularity these days, but in your case, you could Breeder a Mysterious Fossil to Kabutops.
5. Consider Rainbow Energy, for just in case you have a Metal drought.
6. I know you marked Elm as important, but I would consider putting Copycats in the places of some or all of them. The "no more Trainers" part of Elm is something I personally do not like.
7. I thought Trash Exchange was not Modified-legal.

Every time I think I can't say anything stupider, I prove myself wrong. Maybe I should just stop thinking.

I used to use this deck a while ago, I had aerodactyl so I could rage.

Anyway, first of all, I would use pichu over elekid. It wipes out mew and hurts every deck dependent on powers, which are many.

Cut a couple of focus bands, you really don't need that many. Cut one volunteers, since you can't get back your pokemon anyway, it's not really a anti-decking card. Cut all of the switches and put in two warp energy. Cut breeder field, they're flippy and really don't help. Finally, cut trash exchange, it isn't legal.

Now with the extra space, put in four copycats, and four pokemon trader. Try to keep one kabuto out so you can shuffle back ko'ed kabutos and search for them.

so:

-2 focus band
-2 elekid
-4 switch
-1 town volunteers
-2 pokemon breeder fields
-1 trash exchange

+4 copycat
+4 pokemon trader
+2 warp energy
+2 pichu

lastly, a couple energy stadiums really aren't that necessary for the deck to function well, you only need one fighting for kabutops to attack, and the rest of the energy can't be recovered. You might want to cut one of them instead of the focus bands.

Thank you WOTC for a wonderful pokemon journey.
