Light Dragonite [17] Pokemon <3> Cleffa <2> Pichu <1> Magby <1> Tyrogue <1> Caterpie <2> Electrabuzz <4> Dratini <3> Light Dragoniite
[29] Trainers
<4> Elm <3> copycat <2> Oaks research <4> Trader <4> Focus Bands <4> Breeder <4> Double Gust <2> Pokecenter <1> Time Capsule <1> Town Volunteers
[14] nrg <4> Boost Energy <1> Miracle Energy <7> Electric Energy <2> Recycle
This is how I am playing it now. I am sure I will need to add counter gyms for sprout tower once the deck catches on. As far as the support, with all the water in the local metagame, I chose buzz. I like center with boost & light dragonite. [ January 26, 2003, 08:45 AM: Message edited by: PsycoDad ]

Hey Eric.
Yah i definitley see this deck catching on in the near future ESPICIALLY with how much steelix is played at the Shack. Really its a good idea that will become popular i just see a few things.
-2 Band -1 Magby +3 Gold Berry(The format is about outlasting the opponent so focus band really is less needed here) -1 Caterpie(IS GATR THAT BIG +1 Energy Stadium/ SOMETHING. Sprout tower is gonna be huge in a while.
thats it ttyl AJ

Hey AJ I like the bands because killing the dratini's early is how you beat this deck. I also like magby for mirror matches and venasaur. However, you are correct about caterpie. It's a techy metagame thing that you don't really need. Here's what it looks like now: Light Dragonite [16] Pokemon <3> Cleffa <2> Pichu <1> Magby <1> Tyrogue <2> Electrabuzz <4> Dratini <3> Light Dragoniite
[30] Trainers
<4> Elm <3> copycat <2> Oaks research <4> Trader <4> Focus Bands <4> Breeder <3> Double Gust <2> Pokecenter <1> Time Capsule <1> Town Volunteers <2> Lucky Stadium (may switch to healing fields)
[14] nrg <4> Boost Energy <1> Miracle Energy <7> Electric Energy <2> Recycle

I think you want to take advantage of the Boost energy to the max!
I'd play another Pokemon family that can benefit from the Boost energy. I am experimenting with 2 Chanseys and 2 of the New Blisseys. As long as Light Dragonite is the active during the turn when the Boost energy is attached, the Boost energy gets to bypass the point of discarding it.
Blissey with a Boost energy is enormously better than Healing fields. Of course, it will only remove damage froma Pokemon on the bench.
The alternative is to go for a good attacking family that uses colorless. Not sure who yet.
