I have been dormant in the pokemon TCG for a little while now. I have been doing other things such as play yu-gi-oh and have lost touch w/the game after deciding to only go to league for the tourneys. However, I am back, with some very big changes to my old alaking idea. I'll explain what cards left and why:
Slowking: If i don't get good luck this card becomes a waste of space, which is desprately needed in this deck.
Tentacool: This card WAS a great addition to the deck until my freind stopped my combo and pointed out it's power can't be used when it first comes into play. That totally took it out of the deck and was replaced by my original damage cushion, chansey.
Light Golduck(Version 1 only): This card might do ok against fire, but espeon can do about the same amount of damage w/o having a weakness advantage over the defending pokemon.

I think I like V1 the best. However have you thought of using Light Vaporeon instead of D. Vaporeon. Light Vap and Alakazam make a real good combination. Use Zam to spread out the damage, 1 per pokemon. Then Hypnoshower:
1> Puts defender to sleep
2> Does 30 damage
3> Removes up to 60 damage from your pokemon (1 counter per poke)
Also if you use Light V. you can get rid of the pokemon center, freeing up 3 more spaces.
[EDIT: Actually Hypnoshower only removes damage from the bench. Therefore only 50 at one time can be healed. My mistake.]

that seems like a good idea actually. Light vap also has 20 more HP at it's disposal, and it can weaken fire......hhmmmm...

I think another 2 scoop ups are in order, to get the full advantage of Damage Swap you need those
