I Built and ran a deck a little while ago that made top8 at York in it's only appearance that was based on one idea. Subject the opponent's active to such horrific special conditions that that HAVE to retreat and then Spike their new active when they do. The old version ran G Nidoking for the double poison. This version uses the Aq. Muk for it's combo of poison and burn. Playtesting last night went poorly, but it DID manage to get Tom and Drew to scramble and uses nearly all their resources DGusting out Grimers because of early gamestates when their active WAS in deep doo-doo. It was fun, but needs SOMETHING more. Could be tech (Tom's Unown M really screwed me over) or it could be a supportive basic. That's where you folks come in...for your grandiose ideas!! At least you can see what I am trying to accomplish here. Possible 40 damage with the initial attack, and possible 30 damage at the end of their next turn, if they don't hit the bench. Onto the decklist:

No Retreat V2.0 (mf)
4 LC Grimer
3 Aq. Muk
4 Pineco (the first one with the bizarre flip sequence)
4 Foretress
2 Cleffa
17 Pokemon

4 Elm
4 Trader
3 Fan Club
2 CopyCat
4 Double Gust
4 Switch
4 Gold Berry (maybe 2/2 with Bands?)
1 Town Volunteer
1 Lucky Stadium
1 Apricorn Stadium (helps with early multiple Foretress)
28 Trainers

4 Metal Energy
9 Grass Energy
2 Warp Energy
15 Energy

The excessive Switch/DGust/Warp Energy is because of 'tress' and Muk's heavy retreat cost. Obviously you wanna get 3 Foretress out ASAP while trying to get 2 Muk going (one active one benched). Cleffa is the obvious swap if Rapid Spinning and still used for draw (doh!)

Ideas comments flames all welcome

Here's a slightly bizarre idea. Try dropping a Gold Berry (or Elm) or two for the fighting-type Shuckle (the one you pretty much have to OHKO to do more than 10 damage). It only uses grass energy, so you won't need any more. Use it as an early-game wall while you build up your evolutions. Besides, if I'm not mistaken, it does status conditions. Slightly crazy, yes, but it just might work.
Idea number two-- Triple Poison Beedrill. Fits the theme even better than Nidoking. It would take some doing, but it could be a real gem for this deck. Maybe instead of the Muks? Guaranteed 30 damage per turn if the attack works instead of flipping for 20 of it each time.

Every time I think I can't say anything stupider, I prove myself wrong. Maybe I should just stop thinking.

i think you should tech in some Grass Cubes (sleep poison) For the time that may occur that u need a guranteed status to or you'll lose. Even though u get to flip for each grass and u only need 1 heads, it never hurts to be 100% sure. [Wink]
The added sleep can even help u get out of that specific tight spot.

Shuckle is a really great idea for this deck, dkates. The status you can't remember is a double poison.

Focus Band is a must, you'll sometimes use it with a baby, sometimes vs. something that can OHKO your Muk or Forretress. Keep the 3 Gold Berry, since pichu is trouble for Forretress.

I've never really tried the Burst attack pineco because something that has 75% failure & 100% self KO on success was too risky for me. I have used the other (ND?) Pineco for two colorless/20 attack. At times it has come in handy.

Fan Club Helps this deck alot, since you've got all stage 1s; let's rely on that more than trader.

3 LC Grimer (-1 as Fan Club gets it for you and we add Sh.)
3 Aq. Muk
4 Pineco (Tackle)
4 Foretress
2 Cleffa
+2 SHUCKLE
18 Pokemon

4 Elm
2 Trader (-2)
3 Fan Club
3 Prof. Oak's Research
(You're opponent won't Eeeeeeek much. Forretress is hard on Cleffa's coming up to recover. Just watch out for those metal Energy on a Cleffa -- no damage from Spikes despite the multiples. So, Use the sure 5 from POR rather than 'cat).
3 Double Gust (-1 nothing to OHKO with this deck really, mostly they're coming to you and with Forretress you make them pay)
4 Switch
3 Gold Berry
2 Focus Band
1 Town Volunteer
1 Lucky Stadium
1 Apricorn Stadium (helps with early multiple Foretress)
28 Trainers

4 Metal Energy
9 Grass Energy
2 Warp Energy
15 Energy

Hope that is of interest. Whatever version you play, I hope you'll post back some play test reports. I played a long time with Dophan/Forretress and really enjoyed the deck as it is very suprising to many opponents.
