My 11 y/o wanted me to post this Unlimited deck for him...suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Pokémon (23)
2 Gastly Lv.17 (LC) 2 Gastly Lv. 12 (Neo:Destiny) 1 Haunter Lv. 17 (LC) 2 Gengar Lv. 38 (LC) 1 Mewtwo Lv. 53 (BS) 1 Mewtwo (Expedition) 2 Mewtwo Lv. 60 (promo) 1 Mew Lv. 8 (promo) 2 Wobbuffet Lv. 46 2 Scyther Lv. 25 (Jungle) 2 Mr. Mime Lv. 28 (Jungle) 2 Ditto Lv. 20 (Fossil) 2 Drowzee Lv. 10 (Rocket) 1 Hypno Lv. 36 (LC)
Trainers (16)
3 Nightly Garbage Run 2 Switch 2 Pokémon Breeder 3 Berry 2 Bill 2 SER 1 Elm 1 Balloon Berry
Energy (21)
2 DCE 19 Psychic Energy
My son says: "Mr. Mime, Promo Mew (lv. 47) and Ditto help stop hard hitting evolution based decks, while Hypno and Gengar attack the benched and the active. Gengar's power can move 1 damage counter from one Pokémon to another for potential knockouts, the Mewtwos provide extra firepower and Wobbuffet is there to stall."
Please be kind with your criticisms/comments/suggestions; remember, this is an 11 y/o and the first deck he's posted online. Thank you...

Your son's deck is powerful and cool. I like it, but I have suggestions for his deck.
For the trainers, I recommend taking out the following: -1 Nightly Garbage Run -1 SER -1 Berry
Add in: +1 Computer Search +1 Miracle Berry or Full Heal +1 Professor Elm
For the Pokemon, I recommend taking out: -2 Drowzee -1 Hypno
Add in: +1 Scyther +1 Wobbuffet +1 Girafarig(Neo Genesis)
I think that these might improve his abilities to win with this deck. I hope that your son will enjoy this suggestions. Give him my best regards and hopes that he will have many victories.
Signed, Yo3, head of the Carefree Isles League of Practice

It's been a while since I looked at a Unlimited deck. Well, Yo3 hit most of the main points but with all of the Psychic Resistance flying around, especially in Unlimited, maybe he could try some Resistance Gym. Other than that great deck! Should do pretty well!
-------------------- The Evolution of Steelix: My many Steelix deck versions: Electro-Crush (Rockets Zapdos) Steel-Slash (Rocket's Scyther) Steelix's Memory (Neo 3 Aerodactyl) Whirpool Crush (Umbreon, Dark Vaporeon) Crush Down (Arcanine) Kabulix (Kabutops) Steeleon (Espeon, holo Discovery)
And maybe more to come!

In the Pokemon: -1 BS Mewtwo -2 Hypno -1 Hypno -2 Gastly LC -2 Scyther -2 Ditto
+3 Scyther (Neo Discovery) +2 Gastly (Expedition) +2 Mewtwo (Expedition) +2 Scizor (Promo) +1 Mr. Mime
-1 Nightly Garbage Run -2 Psychic Energy
+3 Metal Energy
I really like this deck because I am a huge fan of Mr. Mime. There has been so many times that it has got out of a Charizard's Fire Spin!! I chose the Scyther because Fury Cutter is better because of its attack potential. I prefer Expedition Mewtwo because its has more HP. Tell your son he did a great job, PokeMom.

Tell your son nice deck. But as i would ask him if he has a hard time getting his evolutions out. His only drawing cards are 2 Bills and 1 Prof. Elm. I would increase this to 4 Bills, 2 Oaks (he has Nightly Garbage Run and promo Mewtwo needs cards in the discard so it can Energy Absorb). Maybe 3 Oaks. For Elms, i'd run 2 or 3. If you have any Expedition, and you were lucky to get Oak's Research or CopyCat add them. I would drop the Balloon Berry for another Switch. If you have Pokemon Traders, add those - i have having a Breeder in my hand but not the Stage 2. So let's have Trainers look like:
3 Nightly Garbage Run 3 Switch 2 Pokémon Breeder 3 Berry 4 Bill 2 SER 2/3 Elm 2/3 Oak ANY Oak's Research ANY Copycat
Next let's look at energy. I'd increase the DCE to 4 - good for Scyther and great for Ditto (2 DCE on Ditto and he can handle just about anything). Let's run 15 Psychic for now.
OK let's get to the Pokemon themselves. An almost all Psychic deck that usually deals 30 max is going to run into trouble with Resistance. Ditto and Scyther (and Wobbuffet even) are ok for Resistance but let's add in 2 Tyrogue. It's a baby, can help stall, easily powers up, and it another non-Psychic attacker. Next let's get rid of the Drowzee and Hypno as it will be tough to get them out. And Wobbuffet, i do like him as a staller but it's coin flippy and you'll need one of your 2 Switches to get him to the bench. Add in 2 Haunters (Fossil/LC). Transparency helps to stall out and auto sleep can be helpful. Plus the 2 Breeders will only go so far. Another Promo Mew would be good. Remove the Base Mewtwo. So we have: 2 Gastly Lv.17 (LC) 2 Gastly Lv. 12 (Neo:Destiny) 3 Haunter Lv. 17 (LC) 2 Gengar Lv. 38 (LC) 1 Mewtwo (Expedition) 2 Mewtwo Lv. 60 (promo) 2 Mew Lv. 8 (promo) 2 Scyther Lv. 25 (Jungle) 2 Mr. Mime Lv. 28 (Jungle) 2 Ditto Lv. 20 (Fossil) 2 Tyrogue
Hmmm 4 cards over, ok drop one Gastly. Hmmmm i guess 3 Psychic can also be dropped......

I like the Deck!! gengar is fun to Play, he is even more fun with Rocket's Mewtwo!! I tried to not add to many difficult cards to et or trade for and keep the similar theme that was going on.
Pokémon (20)
2 Gastly Lv.17 (LC) 2 Gastly Lv. 12 (Neo:Destiny) 1 Haunter Lv. 17 (LC) 1 Haunter (E) 2 Gengar Lv. 38 (LC) 2 Mewtwo Lv. 60 (promo) 2 Rocket’s Mewtwo 1 Mew Lv. 8 (promo) 1 Wobbuffet Lv. 46 2 Mr. Mime Lv. 28 (Jungle) 2 Ditto Lv. 20 (Fossil) 2 Cleffa (Promo is fine)
Trainers (22)
2 Nightly Garbage Run 2 Switch 2 Scoop Up 2 Pokémon Breeder 3 Berry 3 Bill 2 Super Potion 2 SER 2 ER 2 Elm
Energy (18)
3 DCE 15 Psychic Energy
I added 2 Scoop Up do to the amount of Basics already being played. Nothing like getting Wobbuffet to 20 Hp left then scoop up and put him back in play if needed. I added a little more draw engine with Cleffa. Using either the promo or Eeeeeek! will help. I put promo in there due to the easier ability of getting them. I think the hardest cards to obtain that I added were the R. Mewtwo. If he can't come up with thes, using the other's he had are ok. Good Luck and Have fun!!!

Gengar and Mewtwo...those two really CAN get along. I'm seeing some Unlimited cards here so it gets an Unlimited fix from me (yay!)
Pokemon: 18 3 Cleffa 4 Gastly (Fossil/LC) 2 Haunter (Transparency) 3 Gengar (LC) 3 Movie Promo Mewtwo (#3/#14) 2 Ditto/Scyther (your pick) 1 Tyrogue (anti-Wiggly)
Trainers: 30 4 Professor Oak 3 Computer Search 3 Item Finder 3 Pokemon Breeder 3 Energy Removal 3 Super Energy Removal 3 Gust of Wind 2 Lass 2 Nightly Garbage Run 2 Switch 2 Resistance Gym
Energy: 12 10 Psychic 2 DCE
It was a good deck to start with -- Importance of multiples realized already, so a lot of good ground to start from.
Just threw in the standard draw engine, the third Breeders, the Removal mainstay and the like. And since your main foe is colorless, Resistance Gym and a Tyrogue.
Good luck!
-------------------- What, like the pro-archetype attitude is supposed to be restricted to THIS company, and THIS TCG? All card games run on archetypes. Magic is 90% archetypes. YGO is 90% archetypes. Pokemon was, for the most part, all archetypes before and during MF2. Pokemon will be archetype-based during MF3. Pokemon will be archetype based when it is under Nintendo.
Viva la unoriginality!
