Here's my latest attempt at a deck. I've been playing with hit and run concept for a while now. The 2 possible lead hitters for such a deck are Donphan and Forretress. The problem is that both of these guys have a weakness (Grass and Fire) and lots of stuff is resistant to Donphan. So here's my attempt to combine them in a usable pair, hoping to cover each other's weaknesses.

//NAME: Forretress and Donphan
// Pokemon -- 17
3 Cleffa
3 Donphan
2 Elekid
3 Forretress
3 Phanpy
3 Pineco L13
// Trainers -- 27
4 Bill
4 Bill's Teleporter
3 Double Gust
2 Ecogym
4 Focus Band
4 Pokemon Trader
4 Professor Elm
2 Time Capsule
// Energy -- 16
4 Metal Energy
10 Fighting Energy
2 Rainbow Energy

It seems to do very well in the couple of matches I've had it in. In the only MMF match it beat a D. Blastois, mostly because D. Blastois had no Double Gusts in his deck. Without the ability to gust out Donphan this is a tough deck to beat.

Here's the basic strategy, not much changed from all the other hit and run decks. Get a baby with a focus band out to absorb the punishment -- only a 1/4 chance of being knocked out. Bring out one of the big hitters to hit hard and spin for the baby. The hitter is never exposed to damage (in theory).

A couple of minor notes. This is the first deck I've ever had that actually had an Elekid in it. I like it here because one way to beat this deck is to send out a baby and hope that Donphan misses with the baby flip, leaving him exposed. This way elekid can attack with Donphan staying on the bench. This is particularly effective if Forretress' "Spikes" pokemon power has already put a counter on the baby. The Time Capsules are necessary since against some decks one of the 2 hitters are worthless. With only 3 of each I need to be able to get them back.

Parts I'm not satisfied with: I really think another gym may be better, but I can't come up with one. Ecogym gets rid of pesky gyms like Broken Ground or Rocket's Hideout, but does little for me. I seem to have plenty of drawing Power. I would like to have another DG but haven't decided what to take out for it. Also another baby would be useful.

Here's how it may do against different types:

Lightening -- (Ampheros and Raichu) Weakness and resistance with Donphan kill these guys.

Fire -- Have to depend on Donphan, but he may have a chance as Fire decks tend to have problems using Double Gusts because of high retreat.

Grass -- Donphan is weak, but Forretress is resistant, and Agile Spin keeps him from having much problem with poision or confusion.

Light Dragonaire -- basic nightmare for this deck. Resistant to Donphan and takes away Forretress' ability to attack. Near unbeatable.

Psychic/Alakazam -- Probably pretty tough as I'm not doing enough damage to knock the big guys out. Damage shift could be painful.

Psychic/Espeon -- Fast, but Donphan isn't weak to Espeon. Eevee is weak to fighting. This deck would do good.

Psychic/Slowking -- Slowking reduces the ability to use Double Gusts. Without them this deck does well.

It looks fun, but it doesn'tlook like a serious contender. Here's my fixes:

-1 TC(4 is to much)
-1 Elekid

+2 Gilgar

Gliga can help u get around those Focus Bands

Hmmm.....

If TC means Time Capsule then I only have 2, not 4. However I do like the idea of getting a couple of Gligar in there....
