i dunno if Mewtwo and Scyther is the greatest idea even though you might not have the energy problems i think you will ahhh i dunno here is what i would d0

-3 mewtwo or scyther but do you feel more viable against gatr or bat/muk your choice (personally i would get rid of the mewtwo cause dark muk/crobat are basically pretty non effective after your dragon attacks)
-6 psychic

Now i think you need more speed so
+1 wrath
+2 grass
+3 ball
+1 cap
+1 recycle
+1 pichu (1 will not hurt)
i dunno i have been testing the dragon too but i dont think you need scyther and Mewtwo

i don't think light dragonite is going to be that affective unless their using steelix.

Yeah... Light Dragonite is not effective at all in Modified. Try it in Standard with some Trainer Denial. (Slowking/Chaos Gym/Lass/RSA/etc)

Thanx for the help aj, I may try it. As for the rest of you, this is a deck help forum. The deck is not suppose to be an kill all deck. It does, however, fair well against status pokes. The chaos and grass pokes do not hurt and murkrow, steelix, and umbreon are bascially useless against light dragonite. Add 100 hp and no weakness and it does ok. A good fire or deck will usually crush it. As far as unknown n and sprout tower, I do not see these widely used. In fact, in the 2 gc and 1 sc I played in or judged at this year, I do not recall seeing any of those cards. Maybe the southeast, east, and midwest metagames are different than your area. Besides, there are other colored pokes and double gusts in the deck.
Any other help out there?

How about trying my version. Add a couple of slowpokes and slowkings. Leave the mp mewtwos take the r.scythers out. Add some more psychic energies and a couple of pokemon centers. This deck of mine did good in the side events at the CSC. I even beat a gator deck [Roll Eyes] sorry about that Khris. The only thing I think that's missing in my deck is speed. I'm still trying to repair this issue. Hope this helps.

How about instead of the Rocket Scyther maybe a Promo Scyther if you have them. In case you are not familiar with the card it states:

quote:
Scyther 60hp
cost: 2 grass Slashing Strike-Scyther can't use this attack during your nest turn (Benching or evolving Scyther ends this effect)

Weakness: fire Resistance: Fighting Retreat: 1 energy

By using him you can attach 2 grass energy and a recycle energy and use the recycle energy to retreat and bring him back in so you can keep using his Slashing strike attack and doing 40 damage.

I agree with TheAnswer3 on also adding a pichu or two.

See you in Detroit [Angel]

I have the promo. The issue here isit takes 2 grass nrg requires plus a recycle to be affective. This card works best in grass decks with lots of zero retreat cost pokes. The rocket scyther only needs 1 grass so you can run it in 2 color decks. If I am running pichu's I will run at least 2 and prefer 3. The card use will limited due to dragonite having a power but I may try it anyway. BTW this is my 6 year olds deck. He currently runs light rk9/light dragonite. I know it sounds bad, but it does ok. As far as slowking, I may try it but I have another 2 stage that I am currently testing with king. You may see it Saturday @ GO.

>I even beat a gator deck sorry about that Khris.

:P It's fine. I couldn't get croconaws till turn 493274987 but it's fine. :P

I never go to this forum, but this topic did attract me. I think you should leave the Rocket Scyther's in. I like the idea of your opponent having even more trouble attacking. with only 4 Elm and 3 Wrath are you gonna have trouble drawing. You could drop a Chaos, and something else, and maybe add two Sab's Gaze. That would be my fix there.

As for mewtwo, I dunno if that'll be the best choice there. It's a good idea, since you can still play low psy energy, and be able to use Absorption and get the energy for the Psyburn. but I can't think of anything much better you could slide in. maybe leave the mewtwos. If you want to add those 2 Sab's Gaze, you could go 5 Psychic and 2 Chaos and have room for both. You could drop 1 Mewtwo as well and add maybe a Pichu like TheAnswer3 mentioned.

These are just my own tips tho. I've been trying to come up with ideas for Light Dragonite and I've been unable to find anything that has worked that well. This as it is looks like it'll work well. Good luck with it.

Thanks for all the good ideas GO folks, here is what I am thinking now

Light Dragonite

Pokes (20)
3 Cleffa
4 Dratini
4 Light Dragonair
3 Light Dragonite
2 Promo Mew - less nrg required for ok attack
3 Rocket Scyther
1 pichu

Trainers (23)
4 Elm
3 Wrath
2 gaze
4 Focus Band
4 Double Gust
2 Time Capsule
2 nrg stadium
2 chaos gym

Energy (17)
5 grass
5 Psychic
3 FHE
3 Recycle
1 miracle
I may drop the psy completely, go down to 15-16 nrg, add more draw, smeargle, switch one rocket scyther to promo scyther, and add another pichu.

Mewtwo was pretty Murkrow-prone as it was... but now Mew is even weaker to 'Krow. And Dragonite won't help against 'Krow. They'll just lock up the Mew and Dragonite is helpless.

Nice deck. I think that Light Dragonite has a lot of potential in the future. I would get rid of the mewtwo and put it with r.scyther. I play tested a similar deck with Rocket's Zapdos and it did really good. But scyther is a much better bet thanx to gatrs.

I would put in some breeder fields.
Hope this helps

Hey. IMO, this deck won't work in Modified, but it can work in Standard. There isn't enough Steelixes, Sneasels (right...=/), Murkrows, or anything else that renders Light Dragonite useful. But, if you want, you can still play it. I can't stop you, that's for sure. [Embarrassed]

Thanks for all the feedback. This deck can do well in modifed depending on the metagame in your area. This deck does good against dark muk, and crobat due to light dragonites attack which stops status. It also stops umbreon and murkrow. I also like the pichu's over igglies. They can kill fire decks, slowking, etc. Chaos and scyther give you a chance against gator. I am currently using 1 rockets scyther and 3 promoscyther.
