My son and my nephew have each put together their own "Fire Decks". They/We are new to the Pokemon TCG and the kids have asked me to do some research and help them with their decks.... So, I come here for help from you experts. Hope you can help!
My nephew's deck consists of: (3) Entei (Revelation #6) (4) Slugma (Destiny #82) (4) Magcargo (Destiny #33) (2) Cyndaquil (E-cards #104) (2) Cyndaquil (Genesis #57) (3) Dark Quilava (Destiny #39) (1) Quilava (Genesis #47) (2) Dark Typhlosion (Destiny #10) (1) Typhlosion (E-cards #65) (2) Plus Power (3) Switch (2) Gust of Wind (2) Computer Search (28) Fire Energy
My son's deck: (4) Entei (Promo #34) (2) Charmander (Team Rocket #50) (2) Charmander (Basic #46) (2) Charmeleon (E-cards #73) (1) Charmeleon (Basic #24) (1) Charizard (E-cards #40)* (1) Charizard (E-cards #39)* (4) Slugma (Destiny #82) (3) Magcargo (Revelation #33) (4) Magmar (Basic #36) (4) Plus Power (2) Double Gust (1) Defender (2) Pokemon Breeder (1) Pokemon Breeder Fields (1) Pokemon Trader (25) Fire Energy * He has a couple of Basic Charizards, but didn't know which Charizards to play with.
So there are the boy's decks. I hope someone here will have some advice and suggestion to offer.
Thanks in advance!!!!! Austin's Mom

For the son: Pokémon (21) 4 Smoochum (Neo Revelations) 4 Charmander (the one with Searing Flame) (Expedition) 3 Charmeleon (Expedition) 2 Charizard (Legendary Collection) 4 Electabuzz (Expedition) 4 Magmar (Expedition)

Anyone up for making a TV edition of the Pokémon TCG?
Don't pester me "Add Neo Cleffa"--my area won't allow it!

Try this:
Pokémon[17] 3x Entei (Holo) 2x Cleffa 4x Cyndaquil (Destiny) 3x Dark Quilava 3x Dark Typhlosion 2x Tyrogue
Energy[20] 20x Fire Energy
Trainers[23] 2x Computer Search 2x Item Finder 4x Bill 2x Bill's Teleporter 2x CopyCat 3x Professor Elm's Training Method 4x Gold Berry 2x Focus Band 2x Gust Of Wind
That's Good!
Se "A Little Combo", on this page, for more informations and ideas
-------------------- Elm - Shufle your hand into your deck. Then, draw 7 cards. You can't play any more Trainer cards this turn. ----------------- The Greatest Card, The Greatest Person, The Greatest Name, The Greatest I.

The decks are not bad if you guys are new. but a deck must have EXACTLY 60 cards. this is what i'll do:
Nephew's: (4) Entei (Revelation #6) (3) Slugma (Destiny #82) (3) Magcargo (Destiny #33) (3) Cleffa (3) elms (2) copycats (2) time capsole (2) scoop up (1) Switch (2) double gust (25)Fire Energy [ December 07, 2002, 09:07 AM: Message edited by: Ch4oz ]

Wow! Thank you all for your recommendations. The boys are definitely taking them to heart. The boys are on a mission to get their hands on those cards you mentioned!
I was wondering, though... (Remember, we're new!)... Why/How is "Double Gust" good? If your opponent gets to pick which one of your Pokemon to switch, how can that be good?.... Also, I was wondering about Cleffa. I noticed that a few of you suggested including Cleffa in the decks. Isn't Cleffa a Pokemon with a really small HP? I was wondering what purpose Cleffa would serve.
Please note that I am not questioning your choices. I'm sure there are reasons to have those cards (Double Gust * Cleffa) in the decks, I am merely trying to understand... (and pick up some strategy, too!)..... I am sure we're missing something about those cards... Please enlighten us!

Cleffa's just useless space that could be used for more worthwhile cards. I put just worthwhile cards in the decks, like Smoochum and Copycat. I even gave Water combat into the decks.

Cleffa is just simply a great card. Although it has only 30HP it has that baby rule so when they attack cleffa(as long as its active), they have to flip a coin and if tails there attack doesnt work.
What is does is just simply great. Shuffle your hand then draw 7 is just really good. You can use it if you have nothing good in your hand, when you are trying to build a powerful Evolution on the bench, or just to try to prevent your opponent from attacking you.
Its worth playing 2 to 4 cleffa in each deck.
